    All around deer hunting cartridge.

I've landed on an 18" lightweight 6mm Creed with 108/109 ELDM (upgrade from 105 AMAX) for walking/stalking, and a 25 Creed with 131 Blackjack/133 Bergers for stand hunting.

    22 vs 6 vs 25

@TxLite with a 300 yard limit, I wouldn't be too terribly worried. Any of these calibers will do what you want. 16" will certainly limit your velocity, but at 300 you'll sill have plenty for medium game. Decide what your priority is. If it's recoil, go 22 creed or 6 ARC. If it's more speed or...

    6mm vs 25 Caliber

With an 8 twist you can shoot all the Berger 133/135 and the Hornady 134 These are great options with high BC and reportedly do very well on game. I've killed a pile of deer with the discontinued 131 Blackjack Ace with a 25 creed at distances up to 600 yards with excellent results

WTS WTS Savage 10FCP with Proof 6.5 Creedmoor carbon barrel

One of my favorite builds. I bought the Savage new and installed a new Proof Research 6.5 Creedmoor 8 twist 24" carbon fiber barrel. Load development was a breeze with this barrel, I shot 143 gr ELDX blem bullets over H4350 into a 8.8" group at 1,000 yards. I hunted with it twice and got 3 deer...

    WTS Nightforce NXS 8-32x56 MOAR-T C509

I'm the original owner, was mounted on a 25 Creedmoor. Couple small dings from bumping other rifles in the safe, otherwise excellent condition. I've shot this scope at 1000 yards and hunted with it a couple times. Performs flawlessly. Illuminated red reticle. Ships in factory box with NF...

    NULA rifles

I'll second this. Melvin was way ahead of his time in the 80s and 90s, but for the price they fetch these days, there's many other options to consider that do the same job or better. I've owned two ULAs, a CLR redone by Melvin, a fieldcraft, and a Forbes. All very nice rifles, but they all got...

    22 vs 6 vs 25

I really like this topic. The creed case does very well in 25, 6, and 22. I have all three in various configurations. 6mm is hard to beat for a deer rifle, plus you'll have factory ammo availability. Now with 22 coming on the scene with good support, would be a good option as well.

    West Virginia Mountaineer Heritage Season

A buddy and I based out of Charleston have gone a few times. He has a flint lock kit gun (traditions or CVA) I have a 50 cal percussion. We haven't got one yet, they've been thinned out pretty well by that time of year. Best of luck this year!
