    WTS Carter Two-shot release

Trying to clean out the release drawer-- I've got a Carter Two-shot release. I tried it for about half a season and went back to my thumb release. Great release, extremely crisp, zero travel, just isn't working for me as well as the thumb button. I have modified the hook area by chamfering a...

Mystery Ranch Gets 'Woke' - Dives into Politics

Say what? It says to ensure safe and equitable access. Does an inner city teenager have safe and equal access to the outdoors if they have no means of transportation, or a mentor, or the money to go spend on hundreds of dollars of equipment to just try it out? You seem to basing your position...

Mystery Ranch Gets 'Woke' - Dives into Politics

My point isn't about breaking down actual impediments that are keeping people from hunting, its about increasing exposure to society as a whole so it isn't vilified, and more people participate in the sport. In 1991 there were 14 million hunters. In 2016 there were 11.5. This is despite a...

Mystery Ranch Gets 'Woke' - Dives into Politics

Let's be clear. I never called anyone racist. Go read my posts again. I don't believe that the racial make up of an industry is an indication of it being racist. There are some BIG logical leaps being made in this thread. My point was about diversity as a means to strengthen the industry and...

    Ammo

Yeah I've been paying between $1.75 and $2.25 for 6.5CM which I can live with. I will NOT pay $0.70-0.90 for 9mm. That is usurious.

Mystery Ranch Gets 'Woke' - Dives into Politics

Why should I explain to you something that I did not say? This is the same overly-sensitive reaction that people can't seem to think through before posting. I said dominated by a single demographic. If you think this industry is NOT dominated by white males then I've got a bridge to sell you.

    Ammo

I've picked up more than a few boxes of 6.5 CM over the last several months by stopping by various stores while I'm out and about. I've seen plenty of .243 at Wal-mart and Bi-mart locally. Sportsmans had probably 10 cases of .257 WBY that is probably still there--no one seems to be touching the...

Mystery Ranch Gets 'Woke' - Dives into Politics

Because I believe that it would be better for hunters to attract people from more diverse backgrounds to the sport to maintain its already rapidly shrinking public appeal. edit: typos

Mystery Ranch Gets 'Woke' - Dives into Politics

I cannot grasp why some find these posts so inflammatory, even to the point where they would stop doing business with a company because of them. I've seen some go overboard, yes, but this is not that, in my view. These tend to be the same people that call liberals 'snowflakes' or 'sheep' but...

    Tikka build - stock advice

Did you end up going that way? I just got one and it fits me nearly perfectly. I may try to go to Talley low rings to fine tune a bit but don't know if I can get away with that on a 44mm objective.

    Tikka build - stock advice

For those with McMillan or the Mesa stocks--how much room is there in the barrel channel to upgrade to a pre-fit in the future? I'm in the same boat as Tayler--currently running the factory sporter barrel but would want to upgrade to a Proof SS or carbon pre-fit in the future and don't want to...

First rifle: Tikka T3x CTR vs Lite (6.5CM)

Local Cabelas, Sportsman’s, and Fisherman’s marine all had several T3xs in stainless at good prices. They don’t appear to be updating their online inventory so I just went to see and was pleasantly surprised.

First rifle: Tikka T3x CTR vs Lite (6.5CM)

Thanks folks. I ended up going with a Superlite stainless. I was not planning buying a rifle today but it was in stock and cheaper than the Lite (??), and I got the last two boxes of 6.5 CM ammo. With medium Talley rings and a VX5HD 3-15 I’m at 7 lbs, 10 ounces, unloaded.

First rifle: Tikka T3x CTR vs Lite (6.5CM)

I've been a bowhunter in the PNW for the last decade or so, which a focus on wilderness/backpacking style hunting. I've recently got the bug to start shooting a rifle with the intent of eventually hunting with it. I am a good shooter with my bow (both trad and compound) and I have a training...

    Archery optics (OR late season)

I've heard that glassing recent cuts can be good in the November late season in Oregon. But I've also heard that still hunting or out of the stands is the most effective. This will be my first year targeting blacktails in the rut. I'm curious what optics you all are running and what your...

What binos to pair with 9x32?

I’m going in to my sixth year bowhunting in Oregon (mostly elk but also targeting late season blacktail now). I’ve been using the Pentax DCF 9x32 my dad bought me back then and haven’t really considered upgrading until this year. They are good binos, but I’m wondering what I might be missing but...
