No moose tag here. Haven’t drawn a tag since 2006 and that was a deer tag with 75% odds. Starting to lose faith I’ll ever hunt moose or draw anything again
Good for a quick jolt of energy too I hear
One I learned within the last year is carrying a piece of aluminum foil as a tray/base for getting the fire started on. Definitely more of a wet weather r snowy conditions thing to keep your tiny fire off the cold wet ground
Some people need to take the tinfoil hat off before they go into bear country
Glad the hiker is okay. Grizzlies are a heck of a critter. I was really comfortable around them a decade or so ago but after being away from them a while I don’t have near the desire to hunt around them
The only way this makes sense to me is if the guys shooting stuff at long range now were still the ones killing stuff prior to going long range. I talk to multiple hunters every year that shot something way out there; that critter would have still been alive 20 years ago. I know of a group that...
At some point something has to give. Deer, elk, whatever aren’t figuring out new ways to hide or evade us but we are continually getting better and better at killing them. The herds can only take some much harvest. We either lose season length, tag numbers or technology is the way I see things...
Made the same switch and am happy. I messed around a bit with a Stan Axis release at a shop recently and really liked it. I think it would make an awesome “hunting” thumb button release.
If I was buying new with an index release I’d look for something with adjustable trigger tension that can...
I guess maybe? Looks like he made a ton of money when he sold to SW, but then was still running it for SW? The old news articles aren’t all clear. It certainly was enough money to make his poaching issues vanish and pay really good attorneys.
So he ran it into the ground years ago and is now back? LOL
He had another poaching case a couple years ago that just kinda magically disappeared. I’d guess attorneys made lots of money on it...
I’ll echo the same thoughts. I still have my nice frame with a crew cab bag and 6500. The crew cab I use mainly for training hikes with weight. I still grab the 6500 on occasion for when I need a ton of room. They’re 16 years old, have packed a ton of stuff in them and really look great for the...
Only time I measured my biggest I got 299. Never taped it again as I thought being that close to 300 was pretty funny. He’s a darn nice bull, only thing that kept him out of the 3’s was a really narrow inside spread
Been shooting a Carter two shot with a heavy trigger for close to 20 years. I didn’t realize what I was doing when I started but i immediately shot it better than what I did my previous release.
I picked up a thumb a year or so ago and wish I could get it heavier than it goes.
I’ll probably...
Reality is probably none and the more I think about it the more the rs1.2 would probably check every need I have. I just really like the magnification range of the rs5
I’ve killed a bunch of critters with stingers and black hornets. I’ve broke one in an elks off side leg but the leg bone was also pretty darn broken. Bent a couple bleeder blades. They’ve always flown well for me, came sharp and been easy to resharpen. I’ve had a couple four blade ones where I...
