I drew the E3 tag this year also and will be out there scouting this weekend and again a few times in August. I have had the opportunity to help a few others fill tags in the past so have a decent grasp on finding elk out there. I also drew a 4B mule deer tag so not only do I get to hunt elk...
I hunt out there quite a bit chasing mule deer with bow and whenever I get drawn for rifle. I also drew an E3 elk tag but for a bull. I plan to make a few trips out there scouting this summer. We have helped others in the past and have a decent grasp on where they hang out but that can change...
I got a tag this year. Hunted Idaho last in 2017 after a brutal winter. I love the state but don't hunt it every year depending on what I draw in other states. I love the scenery, hiking, and pack in hunting. We usually pack in and glass, hike, and beat our bodies up and usually eat our tags...
I run 15-20 cams and 5 of those being cell cams. I run the spypoint Evo and a couple of Micros. Both work but I run 12V batteries with solar on them and never have to touch them. If there is an issue customer service can be a hassle but they do take care of you. I don't think there is...
I hunted Y and then R a few years ago. Both sides were a tough hunt. We hunted damn hard and went way back off the roads and found some decent deer. Wouldn't be my first choice but it is doable. Largest buck of the two regions came from Y but saw far more in R. I think the biggest was right...
Anybody have any info on the the twin peak? I'm about to pull the trigger. Been running a cimarron but with 2 guys and a stove and gear it is very tight. But this twin peak looks fricking sweet!
I hunted Co a couple years ago 3rd season on a second choice and it was a terrible unit thus the second choice. We are now building points and will be hunting there again with 4 or 5 next time so should get a much better hunt. All I can tell you is where not to hunt deer!
Another youth hunt in the books. We have one more next year for the youngest in the house. I love these hunts! We started out Making the trek 4.5 hours to the badlands of ND.
Because of a tag I drew in Wyoming for Sept we missed the early youth season and chose to hunt the second weekend of...
I hunted deer a few years ago and stayed at the same cabins as Erik and his buddy whom I don't recall the name. Erik was actually decent to talk to and share info but the buddy he was hunting with was about as stand offish as they come and too good to talk to anybody. All I know is they left...
I hunted G last fall with 6 and a special. I was tired of chasing points. So glad we did. Two of us and neither of us filled our tags but had an amazing hunt. We found a true slammer before season and slept on him until opener when he was shot by another hunter right out from under us which...
I am an FFL and I am partnered with a smith and we offer rifle builds. We used to use a lot of Manners but now mostly all AG. They are great stocks and an awesome company to work with.
I'm in ND and use a place in Michigan. I freeze them for a week or more then wrap good and box up and ship them. The company I used said they would be fine until they get there being as shipping would only take two days. Same with shipping capes to tannery. Freeze and ship and it stays...
Depends on your taxidermist but not too many places have machines large enough to do it so they outsource it. I did one last fall and I think it was around 150.00 and depends on rack size. The velvet looked amazing and the only way I will offer to do a velvet mount.
I had a rifle built about 4-5 years ago. I chose Retumbo to go along with the Berger 168's. I tested many loads and seating depths and very few were over 1/2" but fine tuning got my load down to a 1/4" and it drives tacks all day every day.
I am a new taxidermist and do it on the side but spent part of last winter with a long time taxidermist and learned that freeze dried is the best way for them to look as real as possible. I have had a few done in the past with injection and brush on was not happy with the look. Get them in a...
