One of the 10 new Colorado wolves is dead.

They'll spend half a million bucks trying to figure out cause of death when they could have applied it to herd or habitat improvement for native species that create income for the state.

    Masculinity and Caliber Choice

They ought to be accurate.. they take twenty minutes to set up and take the shot, lol. My wife and a buddy's mom are deadly but about give me a heart attack waiting for her to shoot.😁

    Masculinity and Caliber Choice

Personal choice. Accuracy trumps fpe and fps as long as they do the job. Millions of deer have been killed with the .243 and 30-30... even a lot of elk. Your ability/range limitations are more a determining factor IMO. Forty years ago the 7mm Rem mage was considered too much for deer and the...

    .280 AI Powders

I have used Re23, 7828 and 4831 SSC. Good accuracy with all three with 168 VLDs. The 4831 was anemic. The 7828 and Re 23 shootalmost identical velocities and accuracy. I chose the Re 23 due to temp stability as I hunt large temp swings. 2950 fps with Re 23 and Berger 168 VLDs... or 7828. I...

    Berger bullet jump

With my custom 280ai and 168 Bergers, fifty thousandths and and five thousandths were nearly identical. Everything in between was less desireable. I chose the five as it allows for throat erosion for a longer period without having to adjust load or having barrel work.

Wyoming Random Draw Is No More?

Guess what? Those of us that live here actually pay the taxes, eat at restaurants, buy our land and homes and spend almost all our $$$ here. Your tag fee pales in comparison. Not even a drop in the bucket. Property taxes have tripled in three years for us.

If you plan to eat them, hollow points are "no bueno". Been there, done that. Gets messy.

    Wyoming Corner Hopping

I do not believe it is a choice if the rancher decides to press charges... and believe me, there are many here in WY that would... especillay since there is big money backing for them. They do not want to lose this battle, and their precious monopoly on public kands.

Heavy outer layer or lighter weight shell with puffer underneath?

I carry this setup during my entire hunt season... Sep thru Dec. I have been bowhunting in 70 deg temps, leaving the sxs in the a.m. and gained altitude and had whiteout snow conditions by evening. Generally, the puffy and outer shell stay in my pack until I stop to glass or have slowed to a...

    Favorite Boot?

Yeah, for a rugged boot with great ankle support and overall foot protection, I lace on my Hoffman Explorers when hunting rugged/mountainous terrain.

Heavy outer layer or lighter weight shell with puffer underneath?

Living and hunting "out West" here, the puffy with a wind/rain blocking outer sheel is the ticket for me and the guys I hunt with. The combo gives a good, lightweight balance, is easily packable and most importantly it is functional.
