    RokStok

“Lite” also mentioned for Kimber Montana. If they make a Rokstok lite with a DBM for the Kimber you will have to be really quick to beat me to the order. That is a rifle that could really benefit from reduced muzzle rise and the DBM would be real cherry on top.

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

What percentage of material that would be presented online is actually available right here? Not being sarcastic, thats an actual question. Check out the course THLR put out. Piece that with some of what is presented here and then apply with lots of field time and the possibility to improve is...

    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

Lots of good common sense in the latest. I enjoyed listening on the motorcycle ride to work today. Part of the discussion reminded me of a question I had years ago about powder manufacturers claiming their powders met military standard (temp stability). My testing showed some powders, including...

    Exo Mountain K4?

Note, I am also 5-8 and started with the 23.5”. It was too short. If you have a relatively longer torso I would recommend the 25”.

    RokStok

That is a face only a mother could love. But I’ll be onboard if/when the 84M version is developed. Speaking of… @Unknown Munitions and @Stockys, could the 84M receiver made to accept a longer COAL when combined with a new stock and DBM? Something to add to your list of ideas.

    Sold Tikka T3X Superlite

Tikka (Sako) was one of, if not the first to chamber in 338 Fed. Though this was a rebore. This one shoots pretty good. Seems less picky than other 338 Feds I’ve had. Being able to load out to 2.92” is helpful. This one used a custom reamer from PTG that has a modern throat design. Like what...

The cartridge for the next 30 years….

My one heirloom type rifle for the rest of my hunting days is a 6.5 CM. Seems to do everything I need. Basically elk and deer. It has proven to work just fine on both so far. I struggle to select any other rifle to hunt with. Forget all the energy bs, if the bullet will be above its min opening...

Is there one brand that is truly the best for carrying weight?

Of course the answer will be unique to you. However, I have been carrying loads back to back with a Kifaru Ark, EXO K4, and a Mystery Ranch Mule. The Ark is clearly better for me. With ~40lbs, the EXO will settle just a bit until the straps pick up a portion of the load. At ~85-90lbs the straps...

Montana Rifle Co. Junction 308Win Field Evaluation

Well, I am starting to get up there in age. I like walnut. Almost to the point of hunting exclusively with a walnut stocked rifle. Sentimental reasons in addition to feel, but I still prefer it. About the only thing that will sway me now is something like a Rokstok with DBM for my 84M...

    Kifaru Camp Bag

Eberlestock super spike duffel works well as a camp bag. A dry bag is certainly a lighter option though.
