I shoot a Mark 5 ultra lite 338-06 for bear hunting here in Eastern NC its a hammer at 100-200 yards. recoil is mild. carried it to AK last year on a bear hunt hard to beat on a mid range gun. Makes for a good blood trail. Im shooting 210 grain Accubonds
I have 2 PMA I keep one in NC and one at the ranch in TX they are almost exactly a like I really enjoy hunting with mine. Im fairly comfortable with mine out to 20 yards but when I hunt I have a 10 and in rule about shooting game.
Look at the trail grapplers I'm running them on 3 different 3/4 trucks nothing but positive I think I've went thru about 6 or seven sets of them. Pull good off the road and they don't roar on the highway. If rotated you can expect 50k
Problem with mornings if your not real careful you will bust the bear off the bait and never even know it till you check your cameras. Its hard to slip in on a bear. We only hunt the bait in the afternoon unless we have a bait getting hit mid morning. I would find somewhere to glass for moving...
