I was able to get pretty proficient shooting left handed. Shooting is the easy part. Getting set up takes some time because there is still some thought involved. I practiced out to approximately 450 yards and was able to kill a bull elk at 370. I will be purchasing a left handed rifle in...
Same for me with the BT. Very close POI with the AB. The only thing I change in my load when changing bullets is a few thousandths of seating depth. The elk shoulders above are impressive out of a 308. I never tried solid copper bullets but I think I will be in the near future.
I have seen the 160 AB's available but I shoot 140's and have not seen them in a long time. Luckily I always stock up when I find something I like so I have a few hundred. 7mm bullets seem really hard to find. To answer your question though, I would choose Interbonds if you can find them or...
I recently tried the Sig/Basemap feature and really like it. I have been an OnX user for years and never really gave Basemap a look. It is actually a really nice app. I'll probablly keep it but do not think I'll be ditching OnX.
I'm considering one of these now being that my 3rd Foodsaver is starting to fail and MEAT has a 25% off sale to RMEF members. What is the advantage of the bigger unit as opposed to the smaller one, other than the size? I am leaning towards the larger one strictly because it is not much more...
Mine shoots really well with 4350 under 140gr BT's. However, I tried Varget with 120gr BT's and it shoots even better. I was never much concerned with the velocity, more so the accuracy and consistency. My next load work up with this caliber was going to be for a 140gr SGK because but I have...
Thanks again everyone for all the advice. I have been practicing and have all the confidence now that I can do this. The only thing I have left to work on is working the bolt incase a follow up shot is required. My plan over the next week is to get one of my older bolt guns out of the safe...
I work with a lot of electronic devices on a daily basis and I constantly see failure. It is always frustrating when it happens especially with my hunting gear. I always buy higher end products because I know that those companies are more likely to stand behind what they sell and Sig was no...
Inches are easier to measure on paper. I know how they relate to MOA and will convert to my dial ups. I'm not shooting ELR and knew it wouldn't much matter, but do not like to take shots at live animals on a whim.
Thanks everyone. I am embarrassed I did not know about JBM. That is a great tool and I will be using it from now on. I have a ballistic app on my phone that I am not crazy about. I really am not concerned with all the fine details that it spits out so I always finding myself sifting through...
I was wondering if any of you guys could give some advice on how my rifle's load is going to react to higher elevations. The rifle is a 300WSM shooting 180 grain Accubonds (Standard) at 2927fps muzzle velocity. I chose this node because it was much more consistent and forgiving than the higher...
I never expected a free replacement or a free repair after my unit was out of warranty. I also never expected this unit to die before the original battery. The fact that it did makes me lose all confidence in any Sig product.
Update on this issue for all who gave me advice. I loaded up a few rifles today with some factory ammo that is basically just taking up space in my safe and made a trip to the range. I am still able to see my crosshairs with my right eye, but no where near as clear as my left. I had to put a...
I just wanted to give anyone in the market for a new rangefinder a bit of advice after an experience I had today. I have owned a Sig Kilo 2000 rangefinder since summer of 2017. This unit had very little use and up until last week, had the original battery still installed. Last year I had some...
My Sig Kilo2000 was great until the warranty ran out. That was in July. Now it doesn't work and their Service told me the best they can do is 40% off another one. I told them I'll buy another brand since this one died before the original battery. I own many Sig products at the moment but...
Thanks for all the input. I think I am going to be ok but might not be able to stretch the shot out as far. The stock problem I originally thought I had went away when I closed my dominant eye. Working the action is not ideal, but with all the time I have in this gun with load development and...
