    Haha. Was just about to post something like this - my 6 and 8 year olds climbed 3,700 vertical, in a little over 5 miles, before noon a couple weeks ago. Granted, it was Mt Washington, in NH, so we topped out at just under 6,300 feet, but we're just east coasters who live at 15 feet above sea level.
