Looks like model 85 upgrade. Dropped the “controlled feeding” bolt design, that 85 never actually was. Fixed, hopefully, ejection angle. New trigger. Picatinny on some. Otherwise mainly same.
.308 165 gr Lazer out of a 308 win. Estimated impact velocity 1970 fps. Moose at 506 m. Higher double lung shot. Lodged under skin on opposite side. Two separated pieces were later found while processing meat.
The latest version available in App Store is 1.5.14 that has not been updated for more than a year and is terrible. Is there a some special way to get the 2.0?
I would suggest to look at Cutting Edge Maximus. They claim to open reliably down to 1600. Used 150 gr with success on deer for two seasons from up close to 423y. Trying 180gr this year.
Swarovski z3 brh. Its holdover marks are 1 mil spaced with additional half mil marks. Great little scope. I would go with mils over bdc or moa any day.
I would not trust it being able to dial reliably. It will fail you one day. It was not designed for that. Sight it in once a year - use holdovers through the season. For dialing, look for Nightforce, S&B, Khales, March and others.
Not all realize they actually have mil spaced holdovers. There is one mil between the dots when scope is at max magnification. Not sure why they do not advertise it more clear. Any ballistic calculator able to provide solution in mils can be used to get holdovers specific to your load. On top of...
I have had both as well, sig 2400 and Leica 3500. Switched to Leica because of the superior optics. Regret doing so now. While the Leica bright and clear, the ballistic calculator in the sig was superior. The Leica does not have an ability to account for temperature sensitivity of a specific...
That’s all good, let’s say I have loaded same 150 gr bullet in one case with some r17 and in the other one with varget, to the same velocity. With r17 being sensitive as much as 1.42 and varget just 0.13 fps per a degree of ambient temperature shouldn’t you expect them to drop differently at say...
It looks like the long throated 284w is not that far behind the SAUM, probably on par with the 280AI when both loaded to the tikka mag length. Makes it a great alternative especially considering recently improved brass availability.
