As many others have stated a 14x16 would be minimum size for 4 people with a stove. I’d prefer the 16x20 - or get 2 smaller tents, one for sleeping in and one for cooking and storing gear.
Thanks for the write up. Hoping to draw AZ in 3-4 yrs. Sounds like you guys had a great hunt. I did the thigh stab/slash this year while doing the gutless method on a whitetail - not a good feeling.
Mental is key in my opinion. If you are physically out of shape, it will affect you mentally though.
Hard thing is preparing yourself mentally - even the best “mental plans” made in the office at a comfortable 70 degrees in the Midwest in June can evaporate quickly in the cold mountains on day 5...
I’ve had it happen that way with a rifle. Still waiting for it to happen with a bow. Go from being whipped, to cloud 9 in a few minutes. Thanks for the recap.
.300 Win Mag for me. I may be a little over gunned on the antelope but I’d rather be over gunned for lighter game than under gunned on an elk at 600 yards.
When I was late buying an elk tag - this was my only option as well. I think you’re more likely to win the lottery twice than you are to get a tag online.
