    Nashville

I live an hour or so away and really the only things I can think of worth mentioning are Opryland Hotel which is a money pit but pretty neat, Grand ole opry, the Hermitage, Marathon Auto factory and just a walk around downtown. A few restaurants that come to mind are Urban Grub, Thai Phooket...

    Good Catfish area?

Another option other than dams are power plants that are running. If you can access and fish on the outlet side where the warm water discharges it’s good. TVA has several in Tennessee and some in Kentucky. Shawnee plant is close to Paducah but I’m not sure you can access their discharge by land.

Suggestions for finding these mythical boots

I broke down a few years ago and ordered a pair from Russell Moccasin. He has a measuring form you make for each foot . They were a little snug at first but now they are the most comfortable pair of boots I own. If or when these wear out I’ll be buying another pair for sure.

    The last Mountain Man.........

Cool video. I read a book about these folks it said a jeep trail went right down almost to his place directly across the river. It did say Francis Wisner was very remote and very much a mountain woman.

    Anyone here have a pool?

It is not . I have just regular water and regular sand filter and honestly I can’t remember the brand. I’ll look and see if I can find a name on it. My mom and dad had one for us and it lasted 15 or more years. I do cover it every winter. 2 bags of shock each week and every now and then I’ll...

    Anyone here have a pool?

Got a mid grade above ground 20’ for my kids. Bought the automatic pool vacuum which IMO is a must. Installed it myself so deck and all I’ve got about $4500 in it. Other than throwing some shock in it every week and sticking the vacuum in it I don’t touch it. It probably takes me 30 minutes a...

    Domestic dog / coyote interactions?

I ended up by accident training my two Australian Shepherds to decoy by having coyotes mess with them so often. I’ve figured out they will send a female yote out to “play” and try to lure the dogs off where there will be 3 or 4 more waiting to jump it. I got an Airedale and now my shepherds have...

Bow saw vs pocket chainsaw for tipi tent wood

The Silky Katanboy 650 can cut some serious wood. It weighs in at just a little over 2lbs so it may be a bit heavy for a serious pack trip.

What do you do with your venison?

You can leave out the liquid smoke and it’s still really good. I’d be willing to bet you a tenderloin if you try it you’d like it just the way it is. I did want to say be sure to mix up the red pepper really good and if you like it hot just adjust the red pepper portion to taste.
