We were the same way. It never really stopped until we got the buck down. We anticipated more competition than we had, mainly due to my previous trip in 2018. My advice for easily drawn areas is get there early and kill your buck as soon as possible and you might have to settle for something...
Use your binoculars, we used ours a lot more than the spotters. It's easy to spot antelope if they are standing in the sun with their butt to you. Otherwise they can hide fairly well. Just check everything. We turned up antelope bedded close (400 +/-) to the road with binos that we missed with...
Friday morning at 12:01 A.M. I became sick and voided my body 4 times before we left the hotel room that morning. I am certain it was not nerves although I have been teased about that aspect since. We expected the roads to be extremely slick but were pleased to notice that these dirt/sand roads...
I'll post to the meat pole thread but I wanted to offer a little bit more detailed information regarding the overall trip. I feel like access, weather, road quality, and hunt quality are big questions that easterners have especially south easterners. I hope to answer all of these here in. I...
No I took my dad to hunt a ranch in TX and the TN hog and Coyote came off a lease. However the TN lease does border public land and that is 100% where all those pigs are coming from. Its a real problem around here.
I took my father to Eagle Pass in Feb with Lazy R for javelina and pigs. Saw plenty of coyotes also. It was a nice place accommodations were nice food was good and there was plenty of room $1300 bucks for a hunt isn't very much anymore. They were good people. No high Fence. Good quail population...
It was a unit wide land owner tag. I was told you could hunt the public land as well as the landowners property. I believe the unit would've been good I really didn't have the time necessary for me to pull this all together.
Turned it down. I may not understand the Colorado system in reference to land owner tags. It seems like there is something else you need other than the voucher and the license. Maybe not, too many states too many rules. I really didn’t like busting into this forum and asking for info when I see...
I missed out on the Wyoming draw this year and I was considering buying a unit wide antelope LO tag for 57/58 in Colorado. Just wondering if the unit is worth it? I think I passed through there once a couple years ago but I don’t remember seeing any goats. I can find 0 info on the unit other...
I hunt the CWD unit in TN and it is open to all weapons on private land I am unsure about the public land. The circus is virtually small due to the hot weather. Most of the people I know do not hunt the September archery opener much less the August velvet buck, too hot too buggy. Thermocell...
I solo hunted 17 on a second choice draw a couple years back. Only got to hunt one day due to a blizzard but came close to getting it done on public. There were lots of antelope just not many where you could shoot them. This was the second week of season also the more popular larger chunks of...
Was planning my second WY antelope hunt for next year. Finally built enough points to draw 73 or 47. The affected areas seem close to both units. Praying it wont be too terrible.
I would say yes, given the chance I would shoot him. Good buck. He is tall with a nice curl but seems to have weak cutters. Good luck, hope he gets him.
