    kuiu backorder times

Excluding Merino, 93% of all style/color/size options are in stock. Aside from gaiters and XL bino harnesses, 2014 inventory has been very good compared to past years- and it will continue to improve.

    KUIU Attack Pants Size Question

Yes, the phenomenon is called Vanity Sizing. Most Americans identify their waist size with what they wear in jeans. There are very few jeans companies who don't use Vanity Sizing, which casts a misconception upon the general public with regards to their true waist size. Companies started doing...

KUIU Ultra 6000 Pack - Short video by Robby Denning

Less foam in the straps made no difference in the feel with heavier weight. It's the way that the load is distributed throughout the strap that counts. The foam in the Icon shoulder straps widens out and compresses pretty flat after a few hunts. The Ultra suspension basically starts out (and...

Clothes for 17 Day Sheep Hunt in Northern BC?

Since it sounds like you'll be wearing the Attack as your primary outer layer pant, I would swap the Yukon pants for Chugach pants. Save 10oz and free up a little bit of pack space. Sounds like a great hunt, congrats on the opportunity.

Kuiu superdown..a comment. stuffing it into it's own pocket.

The reversible zipper is now located on the side hand pocket. Easier to stuff, and less extreme compression in case it happens to stay that way for longer than anticipated.

    Kuiu super down vest

Depends how you want it to fit. Large if you want it more fitted, XL if you want it to allow a little extra room.

    MSR burner suggestions

The MSR Reactor is pretty badass. Pocket Rocket works fine as well. In reality they will all work to boil water; just depends how fast you want to boil certain volumes. Keep in mind that some stoves that weight a bit more will actually save you weight due to better fuel longevity on longer trips.

    Cali bear rookie seeking advice

The Acorn tip above is spot on. I took this photo a couple weeks ago while deer hunting. Ended up seeing 6 bears in 2 days... all were eating acorns.

    Cali bear rookie seeking advice

I did a backpack hunt out of Coffee Creek for 4 days during archery deer season. Only saw 2 small bears. I believe that area gets hit very hard. As for the one I killed, I found a "good" looking area via Google Earth in the Tahoe NF close to I80, went there for the first time, and stalked 3 big...

    Hero Shot Tips and Tricks

I agree, unstaged "action shots" are awesome and do a much better job of portraying the hunt. Not a fan of the term "hero shot" either. Success photo seems to explain it well enough.
