HuntFishFight , Can you tell me if you used a ATV on your Bannock hunt ? We are coming from Ohio and debating if we should bring one. With all the private it looks tough to get around. Just starting to pick some spots around private in 71 & 74 right now on GE and Gaia. Appreciate any feedback...

I should have been more specific on my question. I was wondering if they upgraded their system to handle the number of hunters so it doesn't crash like every year before.
Has Idaho made any changes to their draw system to handle the amount of hunters applying this year? It's been such a mess since they went to the waiting room.
We are discussing staying on the mountain till end of shooting light. Our concern is being a NR and never set foot in the area we are archery Elk hunting is safety. We have packed a elk out in the dark and it wasn't fun not being on a trail. Our plan is to get to a spot within a hour of a trail...
This is my ruck workout. My pack is 55# and I do 13 laps up and down a small hill at our local park. Peak HR gets to 165 ish. Taking more breaks at the top of the hill to keep it there. 65 and I want to be able to hunt with my son in law a few more years.
If you leave it off , how do you carry or access your quiver if you need another shot? Do you practice year round with a full quiver if you leave it on ?
For those of you NR who have taken a chest freezer out West to transport your Elk meat back East. What size freezer do you take? I've read that for one boned out elk take a 4 to 5 CF freezer. My other question is do you run the freezer periodically to just keep the meat cold or do you freeze it...
