Going to charity tomorrow. Thanks everyone who expressed interest in separate pieces. We need to clean out some closets and I needed this gone this week.

    Superfeet Insoles…… anyone not like?

I hated the Superfeet. Hurt my arch and made me walk oddly. I switched to SOLE. Much prefer them.

    Darn Tough vs. Smartwool

I have both. Depends on model. Darn tough tend to last longer but can also shrink and become a bit tight over time. Smart wool tends to wear out sooner. My ski socks are all Smart Wool. Some hiking socks are too. My cold weather and hunting socks are Darn Tough. One style - no show...

    Kryptek koldo rain pants

I have them. They don’t really stretch. Aren’t as breathable or as lightweight as the Takur set. But, they’re good and you can wear for long periods of time.

Single Best Workout to Prepare For Elk Hunting?

I too am in Florida. I was a CrossFit devotee for years. Switched to an App called 54D ON and use it 6x a week for an hour. Outside. Heat and humidity with the HIIT workouts have really gotten me in shape. Was in the Italian alps all of July. Could run up steep mountain trails, often...

    Skre Gear Sitewide Sale

How about noise? I find timberline and mountain pants are noisy at first (not as noisy as my Kryptek Bora which I go rid of). I find First Lite to be quieter. How quiet is Skre?

    Skre Gear Sitewide Sale

Thanks. What would the equivalent Sitka pant be to the hardscrablle? I have timberline and mountain that I’m about replace. I was about to order new versions or from First Lite. I also was about to order Kryptek Altitude rain wear. How do your pants fit relative to Sitka?

Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42 vs 10x42?

I’d note 10x. And, if the Conquest don’t work, the Meopta MeoPro Air, Nikon Monarch HG and the Sig Zulu9 9x45 might have better eye cups for some. I haven’t tried the Meopta B1.2, Maven B1 or B6, Vortex UHD or the Leica Trinovid. So, can’t comment. Good news is, from $800 - $1,200 there are...

Larger diameter Vortex Razor HD 12x50 vs smaller (but higher quality) Maven B.2 11x45

I think B2 is nice but I don’t like the focus. I preferred the Sig Zulu9 (same exact bino from Same factor as B2) due to focus. Also, Sig is often cheaper. Same warranty. Bigger company standing behind it though.

    Vortex vs kowa

Kowa makes a great spotter. Vortex UHD binos are, as Matt and others here have stated after reviews, are excellent. Much better than many would admit on this forum. But the spotters are just okay. They’re decent (and I know a few professional guides who use Vortex Razor spotters...

Are there really any differences in the top brands?

I’ll admit, I’ve been a Sitka and/or Kryptek guy for years. Too many items to count (maybe 80 items, well over $10,000 in clothes alone). I’ve recently decided to update everything to replace items that don’t fit right, are worn out or that I don’t use. I’ve looked at Kuiu, First Lite...

    Surprisingly, rain gear exceeded expectations

I usually use Patagonia with 3L goretex pro or Kryptek Koldo. But I’ve had or have in the closet sets from Marmot, Mammut, North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Kryptek, Sitka and others. This LLBean and the Marmot Precip are not as durable but they were surprisingly good.
