I was lucky enough to draw a hunter's choice tag this year after putting in for just a few years. It's the first bison hunt of the season: Nov. 6 - 17. I didn't expect to draw this tag for another 20 years, so a guided hunt is unaffordable for me at this time, but I do plan to hire pack out...

Ammo choices for my .300 WSM

I really like the Nosler Accubonds 180grain. I use the "regular", not the Long Range version. They shoot sub MOA out of my rifle. I used them this past Saturday on a mule deer at 375 yards. Dropped dead where he stood. I assume they'll work just as well for elk.

Rifle slings

I started using the Ultimate Gun Sling this past season. I've really liked it. Doesn't slip off my shoulder, and I really like the ability to put one strap over my head if I want to climb with both hands.

Upgrade inexpensive bow or buy new?

Appreciate the insights and opinions. I think I'll probably end up just upgrading the sight, rest, etc. I will try to shoot it as much as possible this year, and put in for archery tags next year. Just need to take it down to a local shop to help me get it all set up.
