    Hanging European elk mount

    Bailing wire, several loops through the back of the skull. Then get a screw driver and twist the wall end to form a small loop, again using several wire strands. Hang in the wall using a lag bolt screwed into a stud at a slight angle.

    Thinking of trying copper, need advice on bullet.

    We have good success with two oryx both of them taken with 180 gr Barnes TSX, although out of a 300 WM. Oryx are tough animals and I would say tougher than elk to put down. Practice far shots, 350 yds plus. Congrats on the draw, great tasting game meat!!

    Vegetable Garden

    Peas, radishes, and onions have done good so far. Squash and jalapeños have done so so. Lots of tomatoes, corn and green chile coming in nicely. About to harvest the potatoes and you never know what you will get until you get them out.

    The Field Optics Research Carbon fiber are excellent. I like that the 6229 allows two legs to unscrew and can be used as trekking poles.
