    My recommendation would be a kestrel 2500 they are new on amazon for $150ish. It does all of the environmentals I need. I don’t have much time behind it yet, but so far so good. No experience with anything else.

    Over-pressurized issues

    I’m not sure what I would do in your shoes, in regards to the other rifle. Who knows it may shoot great with no problems, I’m sure this isn’t a common problem for other people’s rifles. That said I wouldn’t shoot another round of it through the kimber for sure.
