Any interest in some old school (~2012) Schnee's uninsulated in an 11 wide? I've had these for years and have worn them here and there. They're too small and smash my toe box any time I'm nose down. They're used but definitely used up.
Would like to trade for something in a 12, I can...
I was admittedly skeptical about the whole set upon receiving it, but after a fairly complete season, it's actually pretty good. The pants are a little too thin for my liking, but have help up well. I'll stick with the KUIU Guide pants after early October. Everything else is pretty good. I'll...
I agree wholeheartedly, but will only add that mold WANTS to kill you. Unlike a virus that needs the host alive so it can transmit, mold wants you dead so it can feed on you during decomposition. Not trying to be hyperbolical, it's just the reality.
Get out of that house ASAP!!!! I had the...
Welcome! Definitely sympathize with your situation, the last few years I hunted CA were TOUGH. Love Chico, miss that place a ton. Stick around, tons of good info and quite a few characters here!
Great buck and what a memorable hunt! That's encouraging to see, the deer herd in the unit I hunt in UT was completely decimated this winter. I've never seen it so bad and it will be a long time before it recovers. Count your blessings folks.
I've never seen a buck and after the winter we had i'll never see another one for a long time. Same rules apply though regardless; glass, glass, glass, buy a beef cow.
I was in the same boat as you, learned from the school of hard knocks about 10 years ago on a pitch black mountainside in the Uintah's. The Randy Newberg video is good, I linked the one below as well because there's a tip in there about removing the hind quarters that's extremely helpful. I've...
Careful ramming a ton greens and "fiber" down the yap if you haven't ruled out low stomach acid. Contrary to common belief, the symptoms people take an "antacid" for are driven by your body having inadequate acid (bloating, burping, reflux etc.). A diet of fermented foods can help, as well as...
The buck I killed last season was this exact scenario; trigger sticks and took a knee, dead deer in sub 5 seconds. The whole thing was a blur, but solid as a rock as opposed to trying to freehand/sling shoot with a pack on and adrenaline.
