Have cancer. Going to Seattle for medical reasons. Fishing? Hiking tidbits?
Best of luck on beating the cancer, you've got a great attitude. There's lots of fishing opportunities, both salt and fresh water. I'm sure there are charters close to Seattle or on the Olympic peninsula for ling cod and halibut (ling opens May 1 here in the San Juans and halibut is open now 7...- Elk97

2024 Elk Hunt Gear
Most everything has been mentioned but I didn't see wind checker. I carry two of the little bottles (smoke in a bottle). Several mouth reeds and bugle, cow call. Sidearm if in griz country. -
Clay pigeons on pasture
Between the lead and plastic wads I'm not sure I'd want livestock on it but the deer at my local little club don't seem to be bothered. And the club has been blasting clays since 1949.- Elk97

New Deck
Just redid our 1100 sq ft deck last fall with Timbertech. My sons are contractors in MT and they recommended it, especially with the amount of rain we get here in NW WA. It looks great, went down fast and the hidden fasteners work great. It's expensive initially but no maintenance means a lot...- Elk97

Grizzly Country Questions
Biggest difference between black and griz is attitude. Don't expect a griz to run or be intimidated by you at all. They may run, but might just stare you down while deciding what to do with you. Avoid hunting alone if possible and listen to what your uncle says, sounds like he's got it figured...
