I'm a NR with 5 WY elk points. I applied for the general tag in Region W. Standard license - wasn't paying the extra $$$ for the special. Will 5 NR points get that tag for 2024?
That's understood but the new Goal Zero Sherpas do not have a DC option (older models did). The 100W battery was ample even in temps in the lower 30's. It's the only thing I used the battery for. Now, if you have some suggestions on a cable connector to convert to DC and still use the AC...
I just got back from AK caribou hunting. I bought the resmed portable cpap and used a goal zero Sherpa 100W battery and Nomad 20 solar panel to charge during the day. I was able to use every night. I don't travel as much for work as I used to but will like traveling with the small travel CPAP...
Just got back from Alaska last week and we flew AA out of Kotzebue. We had two caribou and we split the antlers, wrapped the tips and put both sets in one big box and flew them as checked baggage to Iowa. We had 10 checked bags since we brought all the meat home and it was $740 total. 5 meat...
Thanks for the input everyone. I went ahead and purchased a unit from S&S Archery. Saved a little money with a discount code and had the unit in a couple days. Great place to buy from. Fast customer service!
Heading to AK in a month and am looking to rent an InReach to stay in touch with our transporter and home/family. Any recommendations or experiences with rentals from any particular rental company? Still haven't ruled out purchasing a unit if anybody has one for sale or knows any deals being...
I'd recommend low and slow and you can do this in a smoker, grill or the oven. Smoke it if you can though! I like either post oak, hickory or mesquite in that order.
The key is keeping the cooking temp between 200-225 until the meat hits the "stall or plateau" which is 165ish degrees. When...
Can you show us a pic so we know for sure it's the point and not the flat? You'll cook with the same process but depending on how you want to eat it in the end will dictate the temp you remove it for the next step. Assuming you'll smoke it?
I will be calling in next Friday but for those of us who have hunts booked this Fall, what is the probability this gets passed and implemented in 2021? Does it really move that fast? What a blow to transporters and guides for those areas if this gets thru. Get on the phone next Friday!!!
Wow, glad you survived that at such a young age!
Clearly she sucked as a dietician :ROFLMAO: Your call obviously, but a quick chat with Kyle over the phone might convince you otherwise about the value of a Dietician and a solid nutrition plan. Doesn't cost a thing to have the first chat...
Have you ever considered consulting a professional dietician? I would highly recommend a phone call with Kyle Kamp of Valley2Peak Nutrition. Kyle has helped numerous hunters and athletes. I worked with him from April till November this year. He takes a very well rounded approach to weight...
I'm debating this myself right now. Already looking at tickets for Aug 2021. For me, flying home from Anchorage has me leaving mid-day and not getting to Omaha until the next afternoon. That's a lot of hours in the airport!
I'm glad you shared your experience. Arctic Air was a service we were considering for next year. Like another member said; I'd start a new topic so others may hear your story.
