Beautiful bird and a perfect hunt! You are definitely right about the challenge of hunting turkeyswith a bow outside of a blind, but it seems that you have it figured out. What are you gonna do next to make things even more challenging?!
TEmbry, congrats to you and your buddy!
Here is mine from eastern Wyoming. The action is still pretty slow around here but I was able to put the stalk on this herd bird and his harem. Also found a few sheds along the way which made for a great afternoon!
Loaded up and ready for the pack...
Thanks man! I can't honestly say it was a success since my main goal was to harvest a ram, but it was an awesome experience, period.
No, I don't think I did meet a Brady while there. I was leaving just as they were getting ready to start moose hunting, maybe he was just going to be there for...
Last week they hadn't really started in northwest Wyoming. Little bulls were coming to any call and Bugling some but the big boys were still off hanging by themselves. Should be going good by the end of this week.
Thank you to everybody, I really appreciate the comments. I will be back! It may not be next year, and maybe not for sheep, but I'm young and have plenty of time to get back up there.

Lots of sign during the entire hunt of grizzlies, but this was the only one we laid eyes on.
We saw a lone sheep at the head of the drainage so the next morning we packed up the spike camp and headed upstream.
Guide, Monte Horst, looking over some rams we were riding by.
Our new spot...
Recently got back from an amazing time in Alaska. I won the hunt through the Wild Sheep Foundation and their Less Than One Club. I can't thank the people involved and the sponsors enough for the opportunity I got.
We saw a lot of sheep during the hunt and looked at nearly 50 different rams...
I like reading stories I already know. I love opening a magazine and reading my own story or one from someone I know. Other than those I like technical articles about archery or feature stories with lots of good pictures. I would also like to see a magazine publish a story about a hunt where an...
I would think you could hunt right by a fire, you might want to have your camp in the black just to be safe though. I bet the real problem you could have is if the area gets closed and the authorities not allowing you to go in where you want.
