    Sitka Layering

Stratus wind protection is great! Particularly for its weight. Second behind the fanatic and there isn’t anything better than that for still hunting and blocking wind for bow hunting. How cold can you go with a puffy under stratus is pretty individualized. I can sit in 20s with good bases...

Lets see your hunting/daily driver rig (Pics)

That looks great! I have a 16 f150 also. What lift/spacers did you have to put on to get those tires not to rub?

    Sitka Layering

Definitely can get away with stratus for late season. Throw a puffy under the jacket and you’d be good!

    Sitka Layering

All mentioned some good advice. I have all the EV2 set sans Incinerator. The "system" for layering should all be ideally the same size. I wear XLT in Sitka and wear it in near every piece I get. They're somewhat athletic cut, so keep that in mind (recommend purchasing 1-2 pieces somewhere with...

Best Clothes for Deer Hunting in Illinois

Like everyone has mentioned. IMO Most of us eastern hunters probably started in Army surplus etc with hoodies and Carhart jackets. If you’re sitting all day in a stand 20ft high on a ridge in winter though you’ll appreciate good layering and wind blocking. I’d not advise any newcomer to buy...

Best Clothes for Deer Hunting in Illinois

Sitka's White tail system has hardly any equals, in price or quality.......

In that price range I'd almost vote for an M70 or M700 and ship it off to HCR for accurization/replacement triggers and possibly have it dropped in a mickey depending on the factory stock fit.

    Elk Outfitter Q

Greetings everyone. My colleague and I are going to start venturing out for annual elk hunting in 2020. First few years we'd like to do it through Outfitter's. I'm writing to see if this is a decent plan logistically -Start applying for non-res NM elk tag yearly. They're also some colorado...

    Rifle recommendations

Lots of good advice here. Im a neophyte so take this with a grain of salt but If possible handle a few of your choices. Before I bought my last rifle I scoured the internet debating on which one and the various differences. Holding them quickly shed some light on the topic. Also, id also...

Help me pick my new 300 Win Mag!

The 700 AWR looks good! Dont blame anyone for snagging it. Add a few more 100 and your close to a Model 70 ewss which is also excellent imo.

    Cabela's 02 octane

Yeah the Lookout Fleece stuff is solid. I really hope they continue the quality Cabelas hunting line now that BPS has them. Otherwise ill be having to buy a lot of subalpine stuff in the near future

    Camo

For tree stand camo it's really hard to beat, The bad part is that archery season is long, and that you have to get a lot of pieces to cover the temperature range IMO.

Replacement trigger for winchester model 70

I put a Timney on mine and really like them

    6.5 PRC

Yes. The PRC is very appealing to me as well as long range deer tool. I’d already be having one built but none of the regular places online and in person have any prc ammo in stock....... maybe that’s a sign I should wait a bit I’d like to shoot a 300 PRC as well, but no one I know hasn’t one to...

    Cabela's 02 octane

Yes I use it with Sitka a lot. I found the Microtex pants fit much "different", Skinny around the ankles. Though I'm a clydesdale at 6'3 230 so that may be why. Those Stalker/Instinct pants however fit perfect.

    The Hunting Public

Indeed ! Probably $1000 would be their whole set up/clothes sans bow

    The Hunting Public

I've not tried them. I gotta say though that they're probably my favorite whitetail show to watch
