    Camo Stock for Savage?

I really want to get a camo stock for my savage 116 weather warrior. I’ve googled quite a bit but can’t find any place that sells something. Anyone know where I should search?

    Solid Colors to hunt in

I wore this exact puffy last week in Colorado. Got down into the single digits several nights and I loved it. Great puffy for cheap.

    Elk Hides Hair on

Thats a good idea since it's not a place that gets messed with or moved ever - but still plenty visible.

Backpacking watch, - large display, alarm, and easy...

I just bought a Tiimex Ironman FS for backpacking. My other watch is an Apple Watch and the charge only lasts 2 days. This Ironman is large, basic, and waterproof, cheap and easy to use.

Just lost the sole on my Asolo - too soon?

Thanks, yea the reviews are pretty consistent with these. Great feeling boots, but the sole issue is bad. Wasnt sure if 3 years is normal for this kind of boot, or I should be on the look out for another brand/model. I see a lot of good things about Lowa’s. Which one do you use?

Just lost the sole on my Asolo - too soon?

I bought a pair of Asolo tps 520 in November of 2016 and have worn these pretty exclusively for hunting and hiking over the last (almost) 3 years in lots of rain and mud. They fit perfectly right out of the box. I really loved the feel of these Asolo's - they are heavy, but great feel and as...

    Scope advise

I’m not trying to start a riff here, but I find it odd to hear people talk almost exclusively about a certain very popular optics brand warranty. As in, everyone that’s ever owned this brand has used their warranty and to their credit, it was as advertised. But to me - while I’m a fan of...

How do you travel on airlines with your large backpack?

I use a duffle to carry non-breakable equipment and clothes, and a suitcase for my bag and more (relatively) fragile equipment.

    Scope advise

I keep tabs on Camofire, but their version of %off is almost always exaggerated. I’ve seen things there marked 60% off that you can find for the same price or cheaper elsewhere. I’ve often wondered where they got their base price for marking the original price - maybe the most expensive place an...

    First rifle wardrobe

This is great advice. I really like the look and fit of the First Lite Corrugate guide pants for what its worth- think they're like $135, so nothing crazy. I've worn them for 2 years through all kinds of nasty stuff, rain, sleet, mud, thorny brush, etc. - When I wear them out, I'll buy another...

    Scope advise

Just for reference, what was the price for the scope? I have Leupold's on all of my rifles, but there are lots of proven optics companies to choose from at all price points.

    Socks for hot feet

The REI Merino Wool socks are great for me year round. I wear them with my boots most days at work. Think they're usually on their outlet site for about $12 or so.

How far do you really need to go?

I live near the Sam Houston National Forest and hunted it a bunch last year. Everyone on the forums recommends hunting way back in off trails to go where no hunters go - but looking at the trail systems and knowing the forest a little it was absurd. You cant go 2 miles from a trail in the Forest...
