You don't mention your use for the rifle or your level of magnification but I use VX3 variants 2.5-8x36 on my shorter or carbine rifles. Been considering a Swaro Z3 3-9x36 as another choice for a small scope.
I’m a LEM guy myself. I have a grinder, two stuffers and vac packer all from LEM. Had them all for a while.
No issues with anything from LEM. They have stood the test of time for me.
That said MEAT products are getting some dang good reviews and have darn good prices. If I wasn't so pleased...
I cant comment on any other brand than Tibor as thats all I have used the last 25 years. I fish exclusively in the salt and the past 7/8 years out of a yak. So my reels get wet. I’m still using the 5 Tibors I bought over 20 years ago. I use two Everglades mostly as they are on 8/9 weight rods...
I’m usually in bed by 9:00 pm after falling asleep at 8:00 in my chair. Usually wake up once around midnight take a wizz then go right back sleep the rest of night. I don't nap during the day so I think that helps me get a good nights sleep.
4:15 -4:30. Every morning for 30 years. I never sleep in. Never miss a sunrise. I like being up early. It makes it easy the many days a year I need be up at that time to hunt or fish. Its just another morning.
I see guys dragging their rears out of bed two to three hours ahead of their normal...
No but I believe there are vets that would take that stance. If encountered one I would just move along to another vet. It’s a stupid stance in my opinion as it doesn't change a thing and only serves as a culture statement. I find life is better for me if I can avoid the woke so thats what I try...
All I can add is after using 4 wheelers (with racks) since 1992 last year I bought a utility type Ranger 1000 SXS .
After a season of using that I would never go back to a 4 wheeler. So nice to have that bed in the back and not fighting to strap on game and gear. It has a roof so a bit of...
Some people get all charged up on things like hunting. They get invited to go by a friend or start watching you tube content. They do it for a few years then move on to the next thing. So I don't doubt
you may be seeing this cycle.
I’m not in the west but I hunt the SE and a hunt every year in...
I use a wheeled duffle bag for longer trips. Shorter like a weekend I use a medium non wheeled duffle.
I always carry on my day pack. My day pack is my travel office and I keep one change of clothes jammed in there or at minimum a clean shirt.
I’m a Talley user myself. I have at least 5 hunting rifles with the LWs on them. They are all non magnums.
I am not tough on rifles or scopes. I have had no issues. But honestly with all the options available to us out there I would not use any mounts or rings I had even a 1% doubt would fail...
I have Talley LWs on at least 5 of my non magnum hunting rifles. Some I guess are 10 years old. I have not had any issues. I do use a fat wrench to tighten to spec. I am not exceptionally tough on rifles. If I was the least bit worried about durability of my mounts I would stick with the Warnes...
I would hate to have missed the fun I had or the things I learned experimenting with different ammo, chambering and rifle and scope set ups. I spent a lot of money but it was all part of this 45 year outdoor lifestyle. I wouldn't have missed it for anything. In the end I have found what works...
When I got started on Southern Whitetails heard the same magnum thing. So of course being young and impressionable I ran out and bought a 270 weatherby and a 300 weatherby. Cause you know two magnums must be better than one. I felt my 30-06 which I had been killing hogs in Florida for 15 years...
There would be some dang entertaining hilarious stories of what most hunters encountered on their first big game kill. Especially those of us who were out there on our own and before the internet when info was
not as available. Many of us have come a long way.
I hunted deer in public big timber on the ground for decades. The area was very hilly with steep drainages and many saddles by eastern standards. I sat on outcroppings and against big trees about halfway up ridges where there where deer trail both above and below me. Favorite was always saddles...
