Thats a marbles bullseye....great sight. I run them on a couple lever action 22s as well as a midland in 30-06. As for open sights i love huntung with open sight. I have peeps (tang and receiver) ghost rings, bullseyes, and express sights. Blades and beads for front sights. The most accurate...

    Lever Action Hunters

I took a ton of wood off to slim that fat fore grip and butstock down. Completely stoned the workings, lightened up the hammer spring, modified the trigger sear engagement for a much lighter trigger press. Threaded the huge XS sight to accept std apertures painted the stocks green.

How long did you hunt before you went for an elk?

I was 23. My boys are fortunate they got to start at birth lol. This year my 12 year old helped call in two different 5x5s an hour apart in archery season. First one was 8 yds second was 14yds from our shooter who was using a recurve. Couldnt seal the deal but my son was hooked on calling. A...

    Lever Action Hunters

I use my modified marlin dark in 45-70 every year as my go to elk calling gun and general bush hunting rifle. Killed my 5x5 bull at 40 yds this year.. the old 45-70 gets it done from 0-200yds every year. I hunt thick timber more often than open country so id say it gets 70% of the shot...

Who uses their reticle to range find?

I always use my reticle to range within MPBR. Meaning its either within or not. I call it field ranging. This is done with my reticle. Being able to judge distance with your reticle is a good practice within reason. If field ranging shows the animal is outside the MPBR of the rifle I'm using...

    Knives: money money or not

I went with a full custom made by a somewhat local builder here in Alberta. As I do gutless 90% of the time the knife is designed solely around those tasks. It's a semi skinner type with my own preferences. I had it made in magnacut with a really nice high hollow grind. The grip is 100% custom...

    Knives: money money or not

I have a few Chinese made edc folders in D2 that not only get hair popping sharp but also hold a good edge for much longer than many USA made knives within the same rough price range. I agree most are no good though

    Knives: money money or not

I'll bite.. I'm a knife nut as well as a gun nut... for me it's about finding something that doesnt just work but that works WELL.. I have AO in my hands and chronic tendonitis in my forearms from my career.. a poorly designed knife is so much harder to use as it requires different hand / wrist...

    Maxx Traxx, X Bull tracks?

I have a reciver mount 10k winch up front( or rear if needed) and a diy pull pal, as well as a full set of track grabbers.
