    Bow selection assistance.

I do not see wake limbs for sale, there’s one website in google that has a link but the website seems broken or old. I like Mathews a lot, I’ve shot a number of them, but their current lineup doesn’t offer 80lbs. What didn’t you like about your Obsession bows? Anything in particular? The FXL...

I wish I could, but I live in a one bedroom apartment with a wife so space for a hunting dog(s) is unavailable currently. Lol

    Using non insulated boots

I’ve got a spinal injury I have to deal with and I’ve found just about the only thing I can hike in are either Belleville minimils or these flat footed Sorrels I picked up a couples years ago. I don’t hike in the Sorrels until there’s 7” of snow. Otherwise, it’s liner socks, thick wool, and...

Y’all might be making jokes, but pine squirrel is good eats. I wish I knew more about hunting rabbit. I kinda just wander around until I spot one running along and I wish I knew a better way.

    Bow selection assistance.

Howdy! I’ve been given wifely authorization to spend up to $1100 on a new bow for my birthday. I am stuck between three particular ones and I’d like to know if there’s a super sweet bow out there that I’m overlooking. Desired specs: 80lbs draw, 330+ IBO, close to 35” ATA, 6-7” BH, 29.5” DL, and...

Sleep fitness and supps in the Backcountry

I don’t even take those at home for that exact reason. I completely agree with you on the other stuff. Net negative effect, in my opinion. I would love the melatonin to be a better solution but it’s a major detriment when I’m groggy and trying to operate before first light. I may try lighter...

    Scent Web in Colorado

I’ve been thinking about going bear hunting with a box of jelly donuts. Just perch my happy butt in a stand and enjoy some delicious Krispy Kreme’s or something! Lol. I appreciate the insight. I will probably go ahead and give CPW a call. My gut says you’re right. It’s probably not worth the...

Sleep fitness and supps in the Backcountry

That’s definitely a part of it. I live at ~5500ft, but hunt around ~8k-12k, depending on the situation. I try to make sure I’m spending extra time up at altitude this year to help prepare, but I’d like to have a secret weapon in my pocket to combat the sleeplessness. That is my number one worst...

I feel the same way about melatonin. I’ll look for the Kirkland stuff next time I go to Costco! Thank you!

    Scent Web in Colorado

There’s an apple flavor one that I was thinking of using. It’s like silly string with a smell in it. That’s the part that makes me nervous about it. I feel like it’s got to count as bait. If it’s a thing you leave behind to attract deer, how is that not bait? Does that make sense?

    Training Tips

I’m finding that dry downs and close bale shots are INCREDIBLY helpful for me dealing with target panic. I was shooting 40 and hitting gold then one day it’s like a switch flipped and suddenly I was having s hard time keeping it in the red. So now, before I shoot, I do a series of dry downs and...

    Scent Web in Colorado

Hello! FNG here, new to Rokslide and relatively new to Colorado hunting. I’ve seen Scent Web popping up, but I’m really concerned about using it as it’s a solid thing I’m leaving behind that maybe could be interpreted as bait by an overzealous CPW agent. It claims to last for five days and since...

Sleep fitness and supps in the Backcountry

Hello, everyone! I’m an FNG so I apologize if this isn’t the right venue. I’m looking for advice on sleep supplements in the back country. I have a seriously difficult time sleeping in general and it’s only worse in the back country, at least for about three or four days. It’s a serious loss of...

    Minimalist boots

Joe Nimble and Kuuva are two other names worth googling. A few years ago, the Kuuva Feelmax were the only minimalist boots to go with and the first two gens were supposedly amazing. I’ve heard less than positive things about the new ones but maybe they’re worth a look-see.

    Minimalist boots

Belleville makes two boots that might fit your bill. The Minimil and the Minimil Transition. The Minimil boots are my favorite but keep some shoe goo with you as they aren’t the most durable. The transition boots aren’t completely flat but they are more durable and cushioned.
