Kansas City area rally, May 18th

It was nice meeting everyone that was there this morning! ...a couple of photos of my last whitetail...in the forms of birria de venado, Locro, Tibs, Philly baked bread, corned deer hash, the old standby chili, crostini is a must!

Thanks for the head's up, I'm not familiar with Penguin but will look them up. I'm trying to get just enough powder to make a few rounds (30) and see how my rifle does with it. Trying to avoid buying full pound, but if the price is right. I read something a while back that makes me want to try...

Kansas City area rally, May 18th

Is anyone up for trading some powder? I have some N165 that I would be looking to trade 1000 - 1750 grains for H1000, Retumbo, N560, 4831...open to what you have on the slower end of the burn chart. I have been using the N165 to push a 7mm RM 160gr AB with nice results...just want to see what...

    Crossing Canda border

I don't know anything about Canadian residents hunting in Alaska I thought the comment was about US residents hunting do it yourself in Canada from all that I've read you cannot do that.

    Crossing Canda border

Yes, from recent reading that's correct.

    Crossing Canda border

You need proof you completed it. For me to dig up proof isn't easy since I don't live in that state.

Kansas City area rally, May 18th

If I'm in town I'll be there; Spring bear comes first though! Gear for sale is easy, but maybe a gear list of sorts that people have interest in seeing...? I have no idea what if any part of my kit there would be interest in. I know good (or favorite) optics is an easy one; or maybe that's just...

    Crossing Canda border

Changed in 2018...a change that happened is even for very old DUI you're no longer considered automatic rehabilitated. https://www.canadaduientrylaw.com/#:~:text=You%20can%20go%20to%20Canada,government%20office%20or%20border%20station.

    Crossing Canda border

Apparently the Canadian law changed a couple of years ago, like 2018 or so. By Orange County standards it's like it didn't happen it's so old. Canada now requires proof of rehabilitation and that you completed everything. I live in Kansas City now and would either have to go to O.C. myself or...

    Missouri - Kansas City Area

I have hiked a 20mi loop in the Irish Wilderness (near Doniphan, Mo)...go now before the humidity goes up! Haha! That was ten years ago, hopefully they have gone back through and marked the trails but better.

    Crossing Canda border

I just cancelled a Canada hunt because of a misdemeanor dui from 25 years ago...nothing else on my record. It required two different lawyers one to run down my info in California and a Canadian one to write a letter saying I was rehabilitated, and an FBI criminal report that you get to fill out...

MT Spring Bear post hunt fishing

Hey everybody, wife gave me a week long hall pass for a Spring Bear hunt in Montana. How is Yaak River road (NF-92) access through Unit 100 late April/ early May? At the elevations I am looking it doesn't seem bad for a 4wd to get around...do I need to bring a SXS? I know it's MT and it can be a...

Rifle scabbard for side by side, in cab?

That in-cab on seat looks like a pretty good solution...thanks!

Rifle scabbard for side by side, in cab?

How did that one work out for you? I'm looking for a way to carry my gun, but am curious what ups and downs folks have had. I would guess an in cab, muzzle up would be best to not knock the zero...?

    Fiocchi vs Hornady Brass

Good information all around, but I was focusing on those two because I can get OTS .204 Ruger cartridges for ~$1per/round and their brass should be great for reloading. When I saw the Nosler brass it made me start looking.

    Reloading components

Like Sippy said, shootingbot.com is a great way to setup and alert and keep the feelers out there...depending on what you're looking for you gotta jump fast when you get the email alert. I used them to find primers a while back and if you didn't click the link within a few minutes they'd already...

    Fiocchi vs Hornady Brass

So I know Fiocchi makes good cartridges, but as components is Fiocchi brass equivalent or better than Hornady? Looking to see if anyone has actual specs...we all have our opinions, but is hard data available? Thanks!

Old Timber Cut or View issue?

Thank you for the feedback...the OnX layer for timer cuts only shows one small area in the unit. To be fair though, I think that layer is new-ish and maybe doesn't have historical data. I just bought a .204...it's supposed to be at my FFL today...can't wait to sling some lead with it.
