depends what you mean by harness. i have a swaro univeral mount and until just now, never thought about trying that. and while i felt a little silly putting them in there, it had the same effect putting my other binos in does....rock steady and man, what a view!
do you need to lap? no.
i have lapped at least 7 rifles. each time, i shot the tightest group i could off of bags before lapping to see if it made any difference. lapped the rings, then shot another group off bags. each time, i saw an improvement. sometimes major, sometimes minor...
8.5 ELs all day long. if you are sitting on a mountain of money, then go with the pures. but if you need to wait another year for the NL, you aint sitting on that money mountain.
this is a no-brainer. get the 8.5's NOW.
i have a pair of like new pocket binoculars that i haven't used since in got my 8x32ELs. in an effort to downsize the stuff i have, i am getting rid of the stuff i don't use. the warrenty card is intact, and everything is in the box as it was when i got these. the only blemish is on the...
optic? for a 45 colt? easy. i wouldnt.
if you absolutely MUST, aimpoint T2.
problem with optics on lever is it ruins the handiness of them in the tight stuff. and in most that stuff, you aint shooting past 50 anyway.
i would suggest putting a peep sight on it instead.
the first scope i spent any real money on was a weaver super slam 2x10-42. damn fine glass.
i also have a weaver 6x36, and it is mighty fine as well. got mine from natchez as well. i bought 2, put one on a friend’s kid’s rimfire and kept one for myself.
i would imagine the 56 flavor will be much heavier and bigger. idk about the rest of you, but smaller size gets the nod from me when it comes to stuff i have to carry
270 win, -06, 308. even if it’s range brass, it’s something. also a helluva lot easier to find on gunbroker for reasonable.
unless you’re talking about finding store bought ammo....and in that case, i can’t help you........as i havent bought ammo since 1996.
in this day and age of ammo/components shortages....
the value in a commonly found caliber should be shining brightly for all to see and comprehend.
if you are hell bent on going the wsm route, go with the 300. it is the best of all the wsm family.
with some of the prices i’ve been seeing lately in the classified section, you have no reason to complain and i’ve NEVER seen a better time to be looking to buy.
i spent some time with pairs of 10x42, one sv, one not.
the simpliest i can keep it, and quantify the experience, is to say that there is less focusing with the sv version. the non SV were pretty damn good. if i got a good price on a non SV model, i dont feel i’d be missing much at all.
