I too have the Kodiak Canvas flexbox 10x10 tent and have had really good luck with it. It has held up to wind, snow and rain on several hunts and has been very comfortable. The only issue I have had is having to pack up on a day when the tent is still wet and worrying about mildew starting on...
I replaced the factory stock with a Bell and Carlson stock due to the fact I needed a longer LOP. It came with a Pachmayr stock which is supposed to help with reduced felt recoil as well. I may check out the Limbsaver though just to see if it helps. I appreciate your suggestion.
I am trying to stay away from a brake just due to the loudness of it. If I do anything to it, I would put a suppressor on it but I am hesitant to spend the money on a rifle that I may not be able to get more ammo for. I have used the Nosler 180 grain Accubond on both deer and elk. All one...
My Tikka 300 WSM is an absolute hammer on elk and deer but it is punishing to practice with. Along with the lack of factory ammo and the cost of it when you do find it has me considering selling the rifle. I have about 30 rounds left so maybe one more hunt with it and that may be it.
My 2014 F150 V8 just had the engine replaced at 163,000 miles due to EXCESSIVE oil consumption. The shop put an engine in it that has 100k miles on it but at least I have something to trade in. I have always driven Fords but am leery with all of the issues I have had plus threads like this. I...
As I type this, my 2014 Ford F150 (5.0 V8) with 163,000 miles on it sits in the shop waiting for another engine to be installed. They replaced all piston rings back in February (took 3 months) and starting in September it started using a lot of oil to the tune of 2 1/2 quarts every 5000 mile...
My foot doctor put metatarsal pads on my custom orthotics and it helped relieved most of the pain in the ball of my foot. The pads are really cheap on Amazon.
I love my Kenetrek Extremes but it did take quite a few miles to break them in. If I had walked 12 miles in the the first day, I would have been layed up for a week.
I would not buy the points. Life happens and you may not be in that house for another 7 years.. I would just pay extra each month as opposed to refinancing to a 15 year mortgage and increasing your payment. If you are disciplined about it, the house will be paid off before you know it. My...
The five elk that I have killed with my 3006 using the Federal TBT have all died very quickly without a lot of bloodshot meat. I now have a 300 WSM and will be using the Accubond this fall but that is only because I could not find the Federal TBT anywhere. I don't think you could go wrong with...
I myself would be afraid of running mine all night inside a tent. I have a Kodiak with the vents and run it for a few minutes once I get in my sleeping bag and then turn it off. I have also had one burn up in a deer blind due to mice building a nest in it. I always put it in a cover now...
I have really narrow feet as well and just finished my first hunting season with Kenetrek Mountain Extreme boots. They fit very well and were extremely comfortable but do require a long break in period.
