    From the field to taxidermist

I used 5 total (including the havalon). I brought a bunch because I really didn't know what would work best. The Havalon worked well, but I had a small stainless knive that came with my buck knive set that seamed to work best for me. I do think next go round ill start on the lips. I...

    From the field to taxidermist

Just an update. The hunt was a success. I have no illusion's of this being the biggest, and best buck out there, but Im happy with it. Ive never seen a double drop tine buck, in my life, much less put a bullet in one. Capping the face was for the birds. It took me an hour. Getting around...

    From the field to taxidermist

There are. Im good in Kansas, and Indiana, but not sure about Missouri, or Illinois. Thats the main reason I decided to watch him do a face, so I could know I'm within the regs.

    From the field to taxidermist

I went to the taxidermist today, and got a little skinning the face 101. Its not as hard as it looks.

    From the field to taxidermist

I will be going mule deer hunting next week. It is a 16 hour drive. I just got to thinking, how will I transport a buck home to get to the taxidermist if successful? It sure won't fit in a cooler. I'm perfectly comfortable caping, but have never gotten all the way to the skull. What do you...

    Arrowhead Rifles muzzleloader review thread

He might if you ask. I'm sure it wouldn't be free, but its worth asking. I do not have the new version. Before I messed with mine, I would have said no way. After shooting mine quite a bit and having more knowledge on the subject I would be pay 4k.

I have 1.2 mil drop at 300 yds, and 1.6 mil drop at 350 from a 150 yd zero so our drops are lining up pretty close

Got dope at 350 today. Here are the 2 groups 3 shot groups. One was going to be a peach until I got in the way.

    When do mule deer shed?

Thanks, thats what I assumed, but I didnt want to plan a trip around the wrong time frame

    When do mule deer shed?

I assume the answer is the same time as whitetail (February/March) but I don't KNOW the answer. Do mullies shed the same time as whitetail? Specifically in eastern Colorado/western Kansas?

    Arrowhead Rifles muzzleloader review thread

Thanks for sharing your range card. It should help me guess closer when I start. I figure Im around 2800 fps so your will probably drop a little less than mine.

    Arrowhead Rifles muzzleloader review thread

And to be honest, I really don't need to know the velocities. I will be adjusting for longer range off of real world result's anyways. A velocity would be more of a curiosity thing to me. It would be nice to see deviation's, but with the elevation change I'm seeing at 200 yards between all...
