    Gut Knives

still don't get it...... Why not just use the knife you already have to split open the hide?

    Not so hot....

Wow, lots of great info on gear from a different perspective. Funny to see gear mentioned that you personally love and couldn't do without and others that you agree with. Also funny to read comments and think in your head "your using it all wrong!"

    Not so hot....

no stove as the point of going floorless for myself was to save weight. Adding a stove, jack, and vestibule would over double the weight of my current tent. No need to defend floorless shelters. Tried it and didn't work for me, but doesn't mean it won't work for you.... That's why we have options.

    Not so hot....

Having the latest and greatest gear is the cool thing to do in hunting these days, and is an easy game to get caught up in. I find myself pulling out the old Visa more often then I should or need to do. Also, finding honest gear reviews is becoming harder and harder. Can you trust a review from...

    Power Stretch...the forgotten fabric.

Have a couple of old PS mid layer pieces from cabelas and love them. They are very light, warm and they don't absorb water at all. If I get rain on the sweater I have, all I have to do is brush the water off and its pretty much dry. Taiga works in canada still makes stuff with PS.

    Havalon Customer Service

just wanted to pass on another good experience with a site sponsor. Had a small piece break off my havalon knife this fall. Sent a quick email and pic to them asking if there was a way to fix it and received a brand new knife, holster and pack of blades. Gotta love that!

    Stone glacier loadcell

a must have for myself, and I love the fact that it isn't 100% waterproof. IMO the load cell and 2 camp pockets are a must have with the SG bags!

    Swaro atm cover

save your money. I had a swaro cover on my ATM and got rid of it after a year. The cover absorbed water when it rained and was extra weight for nothing. The rubber cover on the spotter body is more then enough protection.

Kifaru vs Stone Glacier - Specifically fit and frame comparison

This was disappointing. They can only cost SG a buck or so to include with every pack.

    Utah Hunt Expo packstravaganza

Read the same comment on another hunting forum of the Exo being tippy/sloppy feeling with weight over 40 pounds.

    Packs made from dry bags

One thing I don't get is the liner doesn't stop the pack material from getting wet and absorbing water = more weight.

    Kuiu Icon Pro

I think you have answered your own question...... If you already have doubts about it, why take a chance? I have never read a thread or post about a Kifaru owner not wanting to train with heavy weights cause it might damage the pack, or a MR owner mad cause the frame cracked while packing out a...

Stone Glacier XCurve & Sky 5900 Field Report

From my guess the two grey strap buckles are for attaching the top straps from the frame to the bag to keep the load cell tight to the frame.

Stone Glacier XCurve & Sky 5900 Field Report

Just got the load cell and am very impressed with the quality of the bag. Great sewing and a little heavier duty material then your average dry bag. I have been messing around with different bags to use with de-boned meat and have not been 100% happy with they way they fit in the load sling, but...
