    Score this buck.

Interesting enough in Ryansvn's thread on scoring his buck most people were low. Depends on frame size which is what I said....one grainy photo makes that difficult to tell. If it's a 4 x5 which it looks like, it would be significantly lower. Maybe he'll find the sheds & then you can argue about...

    Score this buck.

140's - low 150's depending on frame size but can't tell with this one photo. 5x5 with good G4's get's you to 140's pretty easy and it looks like good mass as well.

How does one become a poacher?

In Montana and Idaho a large number of local hunters road hunt - shoot animals from the vehicle - with their kids, wives, friends...and it's a perfectly acceptable social hunting method, but illegal as far as I know unless you have a handicap permit. Is that poaching? I'm betting the majority of...

    Kifaru - Disappointment

It seems like the OP failed miserably at communication. If the product has an issue, put it in a box and ship it to kifaru. If it was faulty stitching they will fix it and return it to you. If it was your fault they will still likely fix it. Grow up and stop acting like a modern day teenager...

Need a new truck- no clue what direction

15.5 mpg out of 2017 Tundra with 10ply tires & a topper w/heavy front bumper. Similar mileage with 2021 Tundra w/same setup. You won't be sorry buying a Tundra...have run multiple Tacomas...would choose Tundra every time. Sent from my P00I using Tapatalk

Kifaru Day Pack on Cargo Panel

I run a cargo panel with a custom fleece lid - same size as guide lid...and a 1000 cc kifaru fleece bag attached to molle for whitetails on 24" ftame. Lower profile & quieter in the woods than Stryker xl. Ran Stryker xl one day and determined it's too tall to quietly hunt for whitetails moving...

    Idaho Unit 11 Whitetail

Yes on rattling & calling...sounds like with all the private in that area I would work the boundaries & call them off private or catch them coming & going...not sure but that area may have lost deer last year to EHD...it's sometimes bad in that area. If that's where I think it is...it's where a...

    Idaho Unit 11 Whitetail

Haven't hunted that unit, but it will be similar to other units. Most locals road hunt so you don't have to be far off the roads...they will be driving roads or any trail accessible by atv or sxs. Backpacking most likely isn't the best choice...you'll be committed to an area you're not sure will...

Large hyper fish in the Missouri River?

Between catching and guiding....seen thousands of lake trout caught....never seen one jump. Rainbows & salmon yes. Have caught some carp and never had one of them jump but not a big sample. Definitely seen carp jump out of the water on their own...they are powerful and make strong runs.

    PSA--Yellowstone Closed!

Flathead and Glacier getting some rain & snow...has rained 3+ inches in 24 hours with snow at 5000. Then we're supposed to hit 80's later this week. Should make for some interesting flows. I guess we could take out the Hungry Horse dam & Kerr dam & in Thompson Falls & Noxon. I'm sure that would...

Massive fee increase for Idaho's unit 5 - CDA tribal reservation.

On reservations in Montana you can't hunt unless you purchase Tribal tag & guide...Tribal lands are sovereign...just like another country. You're not supposed to hunt private land on the reservation...I always wondered why that wasn't enforced in Northern Idaho. Sent from my P00I using Tapatalk

    Adirondack hunting

Multiple well written books on hunting the Adirondacks...better show up with a well defined skill set and low expectations. Many better places to hunt in NY with more & larger bucks. There are mature bucks throughout but many serious hunters & deer drives are popular so plenty of pressure...

Unfortunately MTFWP is worthless on many fronts and this is just one more example. Don't count on anyone getting fired as that's not likely going to happen. Many examples of that as well...they'll probably give themselves raises... Sent from my P00I using Tapatalk

    Zeroing with a Lead Sled

The majority of hunters shoot whitetail deer at under 100 yards so maybe that would explain the popularity of a shooting rest like a lead sled. Until recently many limited range states required using a shotgun with slugs...try shooting 20 3 inch slugs sometime off a bench for zeroing. Most...

    Zeroing with a Lead Sled

Curious what the point of your post is...Do you just stand on the line and shoot offhand to zero your rifle to simulate field conditions?? That seems like the best way to demonstrate your shooting prowess. Maybe I missed the news...did lead sled go out of business because of it's absolute...
