I reran the numbers this time against the SO Peregrine to see what I'd get after some more research. I added a category to rate frame contour...it is really nice that the Curve and the SO frame contour to the natural spine curvatures. All great packs.

Thanks Kevin
I also found some of the videos you guys did in late April that I hadn’t seen before
I like that you can move your shelf up and down the frame as well as add compression straps across a load of meat under the bag if wanted. That’s a nice feature I didn’t realize you had on the frame
I want to say I appreciate all the input on this mental analysis/exercise or pack picking process for me. I also want to clarify that this was in NO way a review of any of these packs as I have zero experience with any of the companies. Buying a backpack or a bow is a purely personal choice...
My planned hunts in the near future are archery Elk and AZ Coues rifle. Elk is 7-14 days late Sept. most likely day hunts from either a base camp at the truck or a few days here and there after a hike in. Dayhunts may turn into overnighters. So I'll want a lightweight pack primarily a day...
The Seek Outside is a slick pack and very lightweight. I like that they make the pack ready to seam seal to make it waterproof. Though the X pack fabric seems like it would be loud. When I watch vids on the suspension and waist belt it doesn't appear as beefy or like it would carry loads like...
I keep coming back to indecision. In my young adult life I did a lot of backpacking and ran lowe alpine, dana design, TNF, REI etc. Most of the packs had a very similar design, two water bottle pockets, side compression, roll or cinch top and lid. Some had a front pocket or a compression...
I agree that I need a weighted metric as load carriage likely highly weighted, pocket configuration higher weight for me, but color/aesthetics and price less so.
Oh what would you suggest I use to play around with adding weight to the pack when testing to keep them in "new" condition while I try them out? I would like to get the frames loaded to 80# to do a real test. Perhaps some softener salt in a trash bag or maybe bag of concrete in a trash bag?
I will say I have also looked hard at Seek Outside and they have some great bag materials and pocket layout/design. I couldn't get over the access to the load shelf or the floating waist belt design so I kind of ruled them out. Perhaps that's a mistake, but with my budget I can't necessarily...
So I've been researching for my first serious backcountry pack for the past few months. A lot of the time I've been just spinning in circles, going back and forth over all the options and what would be the best for me. The choices are staggering. I'd gotten it pretty narrowed down between a...
I’ve been finding that these larger packs in bivy mode without lid can compress down fairly well for day hunts. I think the sky 5900 without the lid seems like a nice set up for an all purpose backcountry hunting pack. I like the pocket layout and horseshoe zip vs their other pack designs. I...
I agree I wish their 3300-3600 bags came with a little more organization. I get the minimalist ultralight idea of some of their packs but it would be nice to have the option and not have to jump up to the sky 5900 to get any pockets.
otherwise it feels like you’re paying top dollar for a...
Do you find its easy to secure the kuiu pack on the Xcurve? Do the straps generally run in the same locations? I feel like the SG frame, waist belt, and load shelf appear to be the best there is. I’d prefer a little more organization in their midsize bags though.
I am continuing my research on finding the right pack for me. I like the configuration and set up of the avail pack. It seems like it would make a great multi-use daypack for eastern stand/saddle hunting, travel, etc. I'm wondering though at how it would do as a mountain west backpack to work...
I’m looking at the exo 3200 and SG 3300. I prefer the features, access to load shelf without undoing load lifters, and pocket configuration of the exo. Does the exo allow you to get a game bag full of say deboned meat high and tight like the included SG load shelf? Or do you need to buy the...
Seems like to have a kuiu as a lightweight daypack to carry out a first light load and then a frame pack meat hauler back at camp might be a nice choice
