I believe there are 2 options for setting up the pins. First option is to set 20 yards then plug in your arrow fps. Much quicker but less accurate.
Second option is to shoot at 20, adjust pin electronically, shoot to confirm, then shoot at 30, adjust, etc and confirm each pin as you go.
I ended up wrapping the bottoms section of antler in aluminum foil before simmering and pressure washing skull. If I read your replies earlier I might have just cut them off. Would have made it easier.
Started treating with mentholated spirits by painting on and injecting tips.
Hey from Australia.
I have a fallow deer I just shot in velvet, with 2 or 3 soft tips.
Wondering how and when to clean the skull (leaving velvet)
Do I simmer and pressure wash first like I normally would and then start velvet treatment asap?
Going to try a diy treatment. Who has had success or...
Thanks for the advice.
I have a new set of shafts on the way so looks like I will be spine tuning them through paper like normal and working on my form at the same time.
Hey Archers
I would like to do a bit more target practice at home to help practice my form. I only have 5 yards to shoot in my shed. Normal target practice with fletched arrows at 5 yards isn’t going to tell me much about my form. I’m thinking shooting bare shafts through paper would be best to...
Stumbled across my own old thread with a question that went unanswered. The notification must have skipped through my email.
Still unresolved issue due to me shooting bow mainly and leaving the rifles at home.
I am about to go down the same path with my 300wm- new Peterson brass load...
I managed to put together a side by side section of the 2. Photos are from others and couldn’t clarify exact caliber or weight.
Left- Nosler bt.
Right- Sierra Gamechanger
Game change looks to have a thicker jacket at the tip but also a larger hollow point behind the tip.
Nosler starts with a...
Hoping for some intel on these 2 projectiles on my short list.
The Sierra game changer(tipped Gameking) with the Nosler ballistic tip.
I am Shooting 300wm around 3000fps And I am sure both projectiles are fine for medium-long range hunting with the right shot placement. Question is which would...
Cheers
I was starting to consider the compact cameras with a smaller sensor but better optical zoom.
If that’s your recommendation then I’ll have to go have a look.
Budget is flexible but mainly been looking around $800.
Both photos and videos
There’s a bit of an idea on what I will use it for In the last paragraph of the original post
With my limited camera knowledge I have been trying to research cameras and have stumbled on these 2.
The zs200 being a compact with a 1” sensor and 15x optical zoom
The sx70 being a larger bridge/super zoom camera with a small 1/2.3” sensor and 65x optical zoom...
Th
thanks for the suggestions.
I am leaning towards a standard diameter shaft. I only considered the small diameter maxima reds sd because they come in a stiffer spine compared to the standard diameter maxima reds.
What do you recommend in standard diameter 250 spine. Preferably not overly...
Thanks
That’s what I was thinking. But like I said, the maxima reds only come in 400 spine or 350 spine and apparently they can be used for anything upto a 90pound bow. And I’m guessing the SDs in their stiffest option in 300 spine would be their safest option and still covers upto 90 pound...
What do you need to know about my setup?
I did a little research on shafts and stumbled across the maxima reds with dual spine technology…. Best broadhead flight…. Easier to nock tune….weight forward…ect.
Upon more reading some say it is all fake and just marketing hype. But some seem to like...
I’ll soon be purchasing a dozen maxima red arrows. I am unsure if I will get the SD smaller diameter shafts or just the standards.
i am wondering what spine I should go for. To make it worse their spine size numbering is backwards. Eg- Their size 250 is a 400 spine.
i shoot a Mathews v3 at 75...
I have had the sight for 6 months. Pretty happy with it for my hunting scenarios.
I’ll take the bow back to the shop for another look but I did point out the contact issues last time I was there. They did notice the roller guard was slightly twisted and they fixed that. It did help with the...
