    Replacing Limbs

Hey guys, I have a Triax that I bought new. A few years ago it started “creaking” in the top limb pocket. I finally got a shop tech to look at it. He called Mathews and they told him to check the cam and see if either of the top limbs had any play. Well, one bearing feels “gritty” when you spin...

    Grand Canyon rim to rim.

My daughter and I are planning to do rim to rim next year. For those who have done it, is spring or fall the better choice ? It opens May 15 and closes October 15. I REALLY don’t want to do it in the dead heat of summer. Right now the plan is just a one way trip but I’d consider round trip. We...

Before I go messing with stuff….

Let me run this by you experts. In this picture there are 3 fixed blade broadheads and 3 fp. That’s 2” tape and I’m checking left to right at 50 yards. Would y’all call that good and adjust the sight? I probably can’t shoot any better than that. Those arrows are basically grouped within 3” but...

A little help with a Triax, please.

I’ll try to make this short but still give the details. Last week got the timing and ATA right and had a BS bullet hole at 12ish feet. Yesterday I noticed my D-loop was shredding so I replaced it. I shot another BS and I have a low left tear. I’ve slowly moved the loop to almost completely get...

    Concert/Sporting Event Ticket Stubs

Who has a box of old ticket stubs in the back of their closet or buried in a drawer? I’m showing my age here a bit but I thought this might be fun. Here’s one of my favorites. The Omni was in downtown Atlanta and is long gone now.

    Colorado OTC Unit XX

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone will PM me with some info on a unit near Montrose. I intentionally didn't put a unit number in here so it won't show up on a google search but it's a very popular unit. I've been in this unit 4 times and have had some success but it's a huge unit and I've only...

Questions for the resident HVAC mini-split expert

Hey guys, here's the short story. I bought a mini-split online and had it installed in my shed late fall 2020. It's not one of the pre-charged units. Everything was working fine until the following February when the compressor died. They sent me another one and my guy (Danny) came out and...

Questions for the resident fiberglass repair expert

Hey guys, I have an old Gheenoe (a flat bottom, square back fiberglass canoe) that I’ve neglected for a few years. Leaving it exposed to the sun has caused the coating on the inside to come off. Anytime I sit in it I get those fibers in my clothes and skin. Is there anything I can spray or brush...

    Tattoo artist

I'm looking for a REALLY good one. Does anyone have any recommendations? I already know I'm going to have to travel for it, it's just a matter of how far. I'm in Memphis, TN so there are several big cities (Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, DFW) that are less than a day's drive that should have...

    I love this forum!

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions and gave advice. From clothes to boots to water purification to bow tuning, I couldn’t have done it without the help on here. I’m off to WY in the morning for my first ever guided hunt. I’ve worked a ton of OT to pay for this and I’ve sweat my balls...

Help, please! I’ve gotten myself into a bind.

Last week everything on my bow was good. First, I paper tuned with bare shafts and when that was done my field points hit with the bare shafts. I even busted a couple of nocks. Next, I got my 40 sighted in but only vertically. Then I worked on left and right. I was dead on out to 50 just aiming...

    Steripen classic

Y’all, I just had a guy tell me you still need to boil the water when you use a Steripen. I specifically asked about the Classic model. That doesn’t sound like what I’ve read on here. What do y’all say to that? I’ve only ever used a Sawyer squeeze but I’m looking for something a little more...

Is this a good case for airline travel?

My concern is that it doesn’t have straps to hold the bow in place. Is that a big deal? Thanks

Anybody feel like helping a greenhorn tune a Triax?

Short story, had a guy at a shop in Nashville (3 hours from home) get me close last year. I came home and shot some paper and got fixed blades hitting with field points. I’ve been shooting a fair amount this summer and now it’s time to check the tune. My ATA was about 3/16 long and the draw...

    Tuning arrows to your bow

If you are getting, for example, a left tear in paper, how do you know if it’s the bow tune or an arrow issue? I would hate to cut my arrows too short only to find out they were the correct spine but my bow was out of tune. Where do I start? Thanks, Ryan

    Ultra View Hinge

There is a micro-adjust screw on it. Turning it clockwise makes the release quicker and counter clockwise slows it down. Does anyone know if the screw will come completely out if I back it out or does it have a stop in it? Does that question make sense?

Y'all tell me if I'm overreacting or not

I ordered a Backstrap May 3 but due to USPS delays didn't get it until late May or early June. I didn't get to using it right away because I've been working 6 days a week and all the other stuff that comes with being an adult. After using it for a couple of weeks, I noticed my d-loop was frayed...

It’s not often the archery gods smile upon me but....

....today was the day! My wife dragged me to Dirt Cheap and I stumbled upon some Black Hole targets. $12 each. I bought every single one (11)! Lol! As you can see, most are still in the box. It looks like the place they came from had a fire because about half the boxes have something that looks...
