Im in the same boat right now and have came to the conclusion to try out federal trophy bonded tip 160 gr. I wanted to use 160 accubonds but federal doesn't offer them anymore and too hard to find in my experience since I don't reload yet. The TBT are an updated bear claw from what I've heard...
Usually the otc "draw" there is an amount allotted and I miss them before my number comes up for elk or deer, otc bear tags can still be had for resident prices for non res veterans
Any experience or opinions on this new design? Looks like mainly just a stock upgrade, seen them on gun broker for around 1500$. I'm interested in the .300 win version.
If you're not set on the knee pads, I picked up a pair of orvis missouri breaks pants for quail this year and love them. Very tough but lighter material on the upper portion to stay cooler
I picked up a 45-70 for something “different” myself. Range limited but being able to choose from 250-500 gr and different power availabilities is pretty sweet. Excited to throw it into rotation for bear and hope to take a moose in AK with it someday
