.243 kills deer just fine. It will even kill Elk if you shoot them right.
I use and recommend bigger for Elk but wouldn't hesitate to carry a .243 into the field for mulies.

I do the coarse plate followed by the 1/8" plate. I have used beef fat and bacon. I prefer beef fat but it can be hard to find around here during hunting season.
I imagine un smoked pork belly would also work. I prefer a 10% fat ratio for mine.

I have found that the core lightweight is VERY stinky. I have the hoody and the tee.
I can't get more than 1 day out of it. Even if I'm not sweating, it stinks. I don't know what that polygiene treatment is supposed to do but it doesn't work for me.
Maybe my brand of stink just doesn't jive...
I used to use these guys. They are close to Salt Lake and do a decent job.

My rear neighbors decided they wanted to become ranchers in a residential zoned neighborhood. Zoning allows some equestrian activity but it says nothing about the two dozen cows.
They decided to build a massive structure that now blocks the view of at least three of us smaller lots. They...
Alkaline will work.
I run lithium in mine. However, it is now $5 per AA and each camera takes 8 of them. It's become a very expensive proposition to keep all my cameras going. I can get a season out of one set but still....

This is my favorite right now. 75lm isn't a ton but it's plenty for what I do.

My poi and group size did not change on my 7mm. I imagine it could though.
I like to do my load development using group size and consistency as the sole goal. Once I know the rifle likes that load, I use the chrono to gather the speed, es and sd data for scope calibration.

I rub the inside of my powder tube and metal surfaces with a dryer sheet. Works well and makes your ammo smell great too!

160gr Accubonds have been working well in my 7mm for a long time. I load my own but there are pre-loaded options.
You will also find good loads from Barnes, Hornady and Federal. I just trust and like the performance Accubonds have given me.

Strange one. I'd have thought that the tanning process would have removed all the rutty smell. There aren't glands anymore to secrete odors either.
You sure it isn't the foam or glues used by the taxidermist? I may have to ask some taxidermists about this one.

150gr anything will do the job at that range. I wouldn't overthink it.
I've seen elk hit the dirt using 130gr Core Lokt ammo multiple times. We tend to overcomplicate these decisions. I am no exception.
Shoot straight and they'll die.

I can have mine up and fully stocked inside (cot, bedding, table, etc.) within an hour. The tent itself is probably a 15-20 minute task if you're taking your time.
