That’s too bad but the same experience I had the first time I sent it in. Lots of oil and still only a single shot rifle.

Early on in the thread I posted that I was told about a problem with a Springfield Waypoint that sounded like it belonged in the Fierce disaster thread. After sending back my rifle the first time, I was talking with the guys at the shop and they said they had a problem with a Waypoint in 6mm...
Well, the saga is over for me. My shop called me 10 days - 2 weeks ago and said they had heard from Springfield finally. Springfield asked them if I would want a non-adjustable stock rifle instead of the adjustable stock like I had purchased. Springfield said they were sending a new rifle...
I guess, basically, the waypoint just “fit” better therefore felt better. Kind of like boots that fit just right after trying on ones that don’t. Maybe I need to go get my hands on another seekins and see what I think.
Just the balance I guess, for me specifically. Honestly, I was not a fan of the seekins stock when I was looking at it. It just felt kind of clunky, and like it was made from a cheap plastic. To be very clear, I’m not saying it is or is not, it just ”felt” that way to me.
And I’m not some high...
Between those two- based off of my experience so far with Springfield, go with seekins, and it’s not even close. Tikka is a great option like others have said. the Waypoint is a sexier rifle no question but if it doesn’t function unless you feed it one cartridge at a time by hand, it’s not a...
My shop has offered me that, and say they will make things right with me no matter what Springfield does. I talked to the shop two days ago and they have reached out to Springfield a couple times but have not heard back from them. I was really hoping to get a functioning rifleback from...
No not a single word from Springfield yet, and it’s been over 16 weeks since it went back last. I’m hoping to get in and talk with my shop guys this coming week. Will probably have to call the rep they’ve been dealing with and walk him through everything with baby steps again, if I’m being...
I used Dale Manning and Tyler Hoffman out of Missoula. Unfortunately Dale is closing down shop and Tyler is focusing solely on bird taxidermy. Their resume speaks for themselves, and if anyone needs a bird done, I can’t recommend Tyler enough. I believe his new business is called Pacific Flight...
I’ll bring this back to the top and add pics, because I used the same pedestal as one poster earlier in this thread. Thank you for the idea and sharing that pic, sir.
After 2 years at the taxidermist, I have my billy home. The taxi did a phenomenal job, I couldn’t be happier. A few pics… at the taxi, at my buddy’s house, with our 2 goats, and lastly the view from my living room chair.
It sounds like you sent your rifle in then? How recently? I last checked with my guys at the gun shop the first of December. They called the Springfield rep while I was there and put him on speaker. Unfortunately, I would categorize that guy as ridiculously uncaring and unmotivated. It was like...
Well over the past 6 months I’ve definitely learned I’m not the only one with these problems. They do seem to show up in Springfield’s 6.5prc. I can’t say I’ve heard much of any other problems in the other Waypoint cartridges. But I haven’t looked into them much.
I feel this process is getting...
I tried polishing one of the two mags that Springfield sent for that gun. I also purchased the Hawkins mag you mentioned as well. There was not any noticeable difference. All said I spent probably 250-300ish extra dollars on replacement mags and tools just for adjusting feedlips on magazines...
That’s an option…. If I get stuck with the gun. I’m not too keen on having to do that myself on a rifle in this price range. Hopefully Springfield makes things right, but thanks for the thought
