    Tiburon Pants - Kuiu

Thick thigh crew: Can anyone compare/contrast the fitment of the Tiburon pants to the Attacks? I cannot wear the Attacks because they are too tight on my thighs and I end up "meat printing" pretty bad as well. Even if I size up and am loose on the waist. The Tiburons are supposed to be looser...

    Cops / Wardens shows?

Are there any new ones on TV? I Love those shows and watched a lot of the "wardens" "cops" "live PD" stuff but has anything come out recently in the last year or so?

    Rangefinder test?

Has there been a thorough rangefinder test or consensus who is "best?" I currently have a Leupold w TBR and use 4dof for rifle hunting + archery mode with my bow. What am I giving up at real-world hunting distances? Does Leica cut through snow better? Does Sig work better in low light? Those...

    Deviated Septum

I've only ever been able to breathe out of one nostril my whole life. It's not a structural blockage but more of a one is always clogged with junk/snot. I had a minor procedure a few years back to "fix" it but that never really did much. My mom had an issue with this as well. Who has had a more...

Trigger weight on superlite (5.5lb all-in) rifle?

I am helping my dad with his Howa Superlite which is 5.5 lbs scoped. The spring kits can be ordered in different weights (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5lb). We are looking at the 2lb or 2.5lb kit. Given the rifle is so light we are leaning towards the 2lb kit. I think anything less is just too light but...

Tripod shooting. Front & Rear vs Middle Support

It seems like a lot of guys shooting off a tripod only use the tripod and the gun clamped/attached somewhere just forward of the mag. How does that stability compare to clamping the gun at the end of the fore-end and using some form of rear support like a pack frame or trekking pole closer to...

    40 vs 50mm on a 3-9x or 4-12x

My dad who is 72 needs a little help with light gathering at twilight. We are looking at upgrading to a 50mm objective over his current 40 but I am not sure it will make much of a difference. It would be a vx-3hd, we might even spring for a 4.5-15x which may be more impactful.

    Glassing chair? Packable

I am looking at buying a packable glassing chair but am curious as to how much it helps. I am the typical Rokslider that hikes in so weight does matter. It would mainly be used for western hunting but also turkeys in the spring. I guess I am trying to quantify how much a chair actually helps...

    Gaiters + Quick creek crossing

What has been your experience crossing creeks with gaiters? I am "sure" 2 steps crossing one real quick (5 seconds) will leave my feet dry just like taking 5 mins to cross one will leave my feet wet. What is about the general limit when it comes to crossing? I understand it can vary greatly. I...

Win Model 70 300wm, BOSS Brake thread.

Does anyone know the thread pitch/pattern on a 2000's Winchester model 70 in 300 WM with the BOSS tuner brake? It seemed to go on m14x1.5 at the local hardware store but I want to be sure.

    Browning X-Bolt Scope height help.

I need to know my scope height for a Leupold CDS dial. I have Talley low 30mm rings which are supposed to be (.400") and a newer x-bolt in 6.5 PRC. Does anyone know my total scope height? I don't have any measuring tools, unfortunately.

    Infinite Battery life trail cam?

Does anyone know of a trail camera or setup that never needs charging or new batteries? I am trying to help a buddy out who has a remote camera in a different state. Ideally, it would charge itself. I see some with solar panels built in but I am not sure how well those work or not. Bears hit the...

    Wiser "Tripod", any reviews?

Has anyone compared the Wiser tripod (I know its a combo of parts) to a regular tripod and what were your thoughts? I dont expect it to be 100% as steady as an outdoorsmans or whatever but how close does it get? My glass is all on the light/small end of the spectrum so if I can get good...

    TSS Shot

I picked up a new shotgun built specifically for TSS shot. However, I need to sight it in and TSS is hard to come by (I've called 20 stores) and $15 a round last I purchased. Can I sight it in or pattern it with lead #8 birdshot and then verify with one round of TSS? Any thoughts?

    Favorite educational hunting books?

I recently read Robby Denning's book on mule deer and it was a game-changer as a self-taught guy. Does anyone else have a suggestion on quality educational books for hunting big game animals? I could care less about the pictures and mostly am looking for tips on hunting western state big game...

Rifle size and weight. Going big for accuracy?

I am looking at building a long range (700 yards max?) hunting setup but need help from those who have been there. How much does a longer, heavier gun help? If its of any use I recently went from a 4.5lb 39" ATA bow down to a 34" 3.9lb bow (bow only weight). While the bigger bow was more of a...

Whitey tighties can save your life....

TLDR: Duck hunter goes missing, they cant find him despite passing him several times (hard to see full camo). He realizes this and starts waving the whiteys, only then do they see him. This is a good lesson for us to have something easily visible. I always carry a mylar blanket for that reason...

Ultralight 6.5 grendel. AR vs Mini bolt

Looking at building a low recoil, very light weight hunting rifle for my wife (I'll use it also deer and smaller within 300-400 yards, have a bigger gun for elk or longer range deer). It seems like I can get a a bolt gun under $1000 and 5lbs without too much issue in 6.5g. Can the same be said...

Base Layers vs down layers. How do you roll?

For pants, I am just curious how everyone works their system of utilizing puffy pants vs base layers when it's cold. Obviously, when it's super cold you use both but when it's just somewhat cold or when you only need something for short periods of glassing what do you prefer?
