MYOG Roll Top Bag For Exo Frame

You have inspired me to start some bags of my own, I love the simplicity and can't stop looking at it haha! Some construction pics would be awesome! What type of seam(s) did you use for the exterior fabric that makes up the main bag? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

Thanks fellas! Yeah it definitely takes some time and like someone stated having a setup for these you could pump them out. But there aren't very many people willing to make stuff on their own, don't have the tools, or don't trust themselves. So everyone stays in business. I just couldn't afford...

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

I went with the 4 sided because I was nervous the 8 sided would be more difficult for my first project. I also feel that the square allows more usable space since humans, backpacks, and other gear fit like rectangles essentially. That way you get the most usable space for the weight. The four...

DIY Megatarp and/or Tut 4 Man

I just made a Tut (on a thread I just posted). If you use the 58" fabric from Rip stop by the roll. and lay it out with the same dimensions as Kifaru it will only take you 10 1/2 yards. I bought 15 thinking I would screw something up and wanted some extra anyway and I used almost exactly 10 1/2...

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

Thank you for the kind words everyone! Yes, Woodbow it will be a giant project! I think as long as I break it down in to pieces and take my time that it will be doable. Yes the Bernina is super nice, I knew nothing about machines until I started the project and did some research. It is extremely...

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

Thank you Reaper! I am pretty stoked with how it all turned out. I just set it up and seam sealed it all today and took some more photos. The peak I just sewed all of the triangles together all the way to the top and then sewed a circle piece of the HyperD 300 over the top to reinforce it...

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

Thank you! The seams on the sides of the tipi are all flat felled seams. The bottom edges that touch the ground are a a triple rolled hem. The tie outs on the bottom third of the tipi are also flat felled into the middle of the seam that make up the sides of the tipi. I haven't seamed sealed it...

    EdT Stove

It doesn't come with a spark arrestor but I made my own in a few seconds to put in it. Yeah you can definitely put a pipe in at an angle. It is still titanium foil so it fits snug but you can put a pipe at a pretty steep angle still.

    EdT Stove

I have one of the 18" Lite Outdoors cylinder stoves and the design and craftsmanship is flawless. I am super impressed! You have a ton of control on the burn rate too.

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

I honestly haven't looked at how to share the file but I'll draw something up with the dimensions written on it. Super simple design. Hall 256- I am into it about $150, from Kifaru it is $650. So definitely a substantial savings. The large tipi is going to be brutal but I gained a ton of...

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

The sleeping mats have grosgrain tie outs on the corners so they can be staked in to the ground to avoid sliding around. The model I made in Sketchup. Weight with the smaller pole. Cutting the triangles and lining them up with binder clips, binder clips are your friend! Use as many as...

    DIY Kifaru Tut Tipi!

Apparently I'm an idiot and can't figure out the pics. But anyways I posted a few more in the original post. The dimensions are 6'9" tall in the center, the sides are square and 8' by 8'. I pretty much replicated the tut but used Sketchup to find the lengths of the triangles etc.
