Looking for new boots for late fall/ winter with insulation. My foot is slightly narrow with low arches. Currently, I wear Scarpa Kailash and Kenetrek Mtn Extreme (narrow width). The Kenetrek fit great but I don't need something as stiff. I prefer an 8-10" high boot. I have considered Danner...
I width and volume of your foot makes a huge difference on how a boot works. If the laces can't keep your foot locked in place, your heel will slip. A thicker insole might be a help. Same with matching the heel cup of the boot. A loose heel cup will allow heel lift. Manufacturers have different...
COJoe,
I will be traveling across most of Lancaster tomorrow. Stocking pheasants at Muddy Run. My thought is that my cardio is lacking especially this time of year. I sit in a piece of equipment mulching invasives or run chainsaws and spray herbicide, or drive a truck around stocking pheasants...
White's had a good reputation when they were independently owned but have been bought up by the same company that owns Danner and LaCrosse. The Danner side has been pushing many fashionable shoes but still makes most of the USA made Boots that made a name for the company. Many of their...
To be honest, I can't see myself going to the gym after work. I work in habitat management running equipment, chainsaws, etc so I am usually grimy, gritty smelling like diesel fuel so I would want to shower before going to a public gym. The advantage of a home piece of equipment is I think I...
As my wife and I are both 52 and now starting to really feel the effects of aging, I am considering purchasing a piece of fitness equipment. Looking on local marketplace, I see quite a few elliptical machines and Bowflex Max Trainers. My needs aren't to train for a marathon but to lose some...
My dimwitted coworker bought 2 boxes of Aguila 308 win 150 gr fmjbt at an auction. He thought he got a good deal until I told that he can't hunt with fmj. Doesn't meet sstate requirements. So now he wants me to pull the fmj bullet and swap them with 150 gr Speer round nose. He will provide the...
My older daughter hunted for the 1st time in 9 years. Only had 1 day to hunt because she had to return to college. Got it done at 5:05pm. First time she had to sit a whole day. Her prior kills were all before 8:00 am. 243 with 80 gr Hornady gmx at 225 yards.

I keep contemplating shifting to the 130 ttsx in my wife's 308. I used up the last of the 150 gr GMx bullets that she has used for 10 years so I need to either work up with 150 cx or something else. The slightly lighter bullet plus extra velocity wouldn't hurt where she hunts. Longest shot is...
I would say there is no thing at a waterproof mountain boot. All leather boots will eventually leak. Oils, waxes, and linings will eventually wear out. The length of time before it happens depends on amount of time worn and environmental conditions where you use them. Dry clay will draw up oils...
I have seen Kenetrek fire boots do that. They have a thin plastic counter between the liner and leather. Too much heat seems to make them buckle.

I have a low volume narrow foot. Size 14. I am looking for a pack boot to keep my feet warm while hunting from a stand in central PA. Low Temps are 20s- 30s. What boots would you recommend?

I used Gear Aid seam grip on the tub of my tent. Gear Aid Seam Grip TF Tent

If your tent had a previous PU coating, I would apply to the untreated side.
