The arms on the jacket are fine for me when I’m layered up. In fact, I was wearing it when I was elk hunting in -6f temps and didn’t feel restricted on movement, but I was moving most of the time. I will add that if your puffy is very thick, I’d recommend a large. My main puffy is fairly thin...
I have the axiom rain pant and coat and it’s actually pretty decent. The fit is good and the pit zips are a little awkward but do their job on the jacket. I’ve had it in intense rain and snow and stayed perfectly dry and at the same time, it breathes enough to keep you dry when pushing it up the...
If you’re planning on riding with a passenger get a four wheeler designed to carry two passengers. Their center of balance and longer axle to axle length makes a comfortable, safe ride in various terrains. Riding two up on a single rider atv throws too much weight to the back making it tippy on...
I average 2,740 fps out of my 22” tikka with 24.0 gr of Tac. My 73 eldm load trajectories are very close to the 77 gr tmk.
Edit: for comparison the 77 tmk drop at 500 yards is 10.7 moa and the 73 eldm is 10.6 moa; pretty dang close
I have a Burris Fullfield E1 4.5-14x with the long range moa reticle that provides a hash mark every 1 moa for 20 moa on windage and elevation. For a set and forget scope, it works and give way more precision than a standard bdc reticle. They can be had for less than $200 if you look around...
I have the same truck and its road manners are similar to all of the other 3/4 tons I’ve had but I never have to worry about overloading the truck like I have the others. I can hook up to my toyhauler and put more toys in the bed and still be under capacity on weight. I’d buy an f350 again in a...
I’m sure if the tag hasn’t shown up by the time you leave, you should be able to stop by an IDFG regional office and they’ll get you taken care of. You’d think in this digital day and age they shouldn’t have a two month turn around to get someone their tag.
I’ve gone through a myriad of trucks and I now have a 2017 f350 crew cab long bed 6.2 gasser and it’s been a great truck. Just drinks like a fish when it comes to mpg. 10-12 running empty and 6-8 towing. I like it way better than my 2015 ram 2500 6.4 hemi that I had, that tranny drove me crazy...
I was deer hunting in Idaho with my boy and I totally forgot about the solar eclipse. It quickly began to cool down quite a bit and was getting darker so it felt like a big storm was about to dump some rain or snow and I was questioning the weather forecast. Just then I had a friend text me on...
The tikka or my ar fit snug enough they don’t bounce around. The internal soft case is good enough. I’ve never had a concern with my other rifles or shotgun in there either. I know my old gun boot I had to put a shirt in there to keep my rifle from bouncing around. Hasn’t been an issue for me...
I use the Kolpin Stronghold xl and it fits my tikka t3x with a bipod and a 50mm objective scope. It’s by far the best setup I’ve used. A solid mounting system, easy removal of the case from the mount, and easy to open to pull the rifle out. Ar-15s fit easy in it as well.
Firehole BBQ is pretty good if you want some good tri tip. As has been mentioned, Quake Lake is a must. It’s not too far from West Yellowstone and they have a pretty cool visitors center that shows the sheer power unleashed by the mountain collapsing and a memorial to all the people that were...
I’ve been following this thread for a long time and have been converted. I guess I need to post more evidence of the effectiveness of the 77 gr tmk out of the .223.
My nephew has harvested two deer now with the .223/77 tmk combo: first one was at 143 yards and the bullet punched through...
