I just wanted to pop in here and say that I took a 3-18x44 FFP Tenmile with me from Houston, TX to Queenstown, New Zealand last week and the rifle was bounced around in a truck for 2 days, a side by side for a day, a plane ride, endured baggage handlers at 3 different airports on the way there...
My caliber by time continuum goes something like this:
.223REM/.260REM/.308WIN/.270WIN/7RM/300PRC
I would seem to be the counter cultural one on here I guess. I find the heavier high BC bullets buck the wind better in West Texas and cross canyon shots out west. My 260REM is a heavy target...

For a post that is supposed to be evaluating an optic in certain respects I don't think I saw the words "pass" or "fail" appear anywhere in the entire post, and I looked. Twice.
I realize this thread is old but I've been seeing Zeiss rings catch some heat for slipping by a well respected member on RS. I am curious if anyone else has had issues with optics slipping in these now that they've been on the market for a while? I am looking to outfit 3 different rifles with...
I had a Conquest V4 4-16x44 that went on a couple hunts and several range trips and it was always shooting on for me. I never dropped it, either accidentally or on purpose but it rode on a side by side for 2 different week long western hunts and I've been known to drive like I'm in the Baja...
Form, the Zeiss rings that you state had issues, were they the Zeiss Precision Ultralight rings with the built in bubble level? Or some other Zeiss ring? I have one pair of these and like them but I haven't intentionally beaten on them either. If there are other rings with integral bubble...
Run the 20 MOA, you'll be fine. I have a 3-18x44 mounted on a 300PRC on a 20 MOA rail and its been fine for a handful of range trips. I've been so happy with it that I ordered another one in 4.5-30x56 and I plan to move my 3-18x44 to my 308 and the 300PRC will wear the 4.5-30x56.
Are the results of this test posted anywhere yet? I jumped around and scanned all 12 pages of this thread trying to find them but they've eluded me which is shocking considering how extensive I was expecting the results post to be.
I was on a waiting list but decided to buy a house instead. The Intech just wasn't big enough. Jokes aside, I still want one and once our home is built I will likely get back on that list.
If you are hauling a 32' trailer through mountains here are the must haves in my opinion. I've done it for the last 4 years in the following trucks:
2017 Ford F-150 XL STX 4WD
2017 Dodge 2500 Single SRW Cummins
2019 Ford F-450 Limited Dually 6.7 POWERSTROKE
You are going to want to have a 1...
Every year, every state, should be a 100% lottery on public land. 60 or 70% of tags should go to residents and 30-40% should go to non-residents.
Cost to enter the lottery would be like $100 per state and if you are drawn then you pay the tag price, whatever it is in the given state you are...
