The beauty of an OTC tag is that it can be bought literally over the counter at any point before or during the season. Meaning, lots of guys make last minute decisions and show up to hunt and buy a tag. If you limit it to first come, first serve, you're limiting tags to hunter who are planning...
It's a Cajun dish of thin cut beef or pork steaks smothered (slow-braised) in a rich brown gravy with onions, peppers, tomatoes, and served over *real* grits.
Growing up in south Louisiana and loving to cook & eat has been the biggest barrier to my mountain fitness :p
Since real stone-ground grits need to cook for 35-45 min (which I will happily do occasionally for certain meals, Grits & Grillades, Shrimp & Grits, etc), I don't have any hate for instant grits for a quick 30 second breakfast haha. Just don't tell my granny I said that!
Selling VERY LIGHTLY USED 2020 Marsupial Standard Bino Pack - MultiCam camo - size Small (will fit most 10x42s) with upgraded Deluxe Harness in MultiCam.

As a southerner, I can fully endorse a good bowl of grits. Grits is basically one of our major food groups. I've never taken them backpacking, but now I definitely plan to.
How are yall cooking them? Instant grits are delicious but they typically leave alot of hard to clean residue on dishes...

I hunt southwest colorado the last two weeks of the season every year. 9500-11500' elevation. Day hunting and backpack hunting. I've tried many combos but this is what I've settled on for the past few years:
I wear a lightweight merino base (unless its super hot, then i go synthetic), and Sitka...
Yeah, I have no desire for that kind of "snooty" stuff. I'm just curious more of the survival side of things, or "handiness" on the mountain. Tips, skill sets. What to do if you get in an emergency situation until help arrives. Stuff like that. It's really just for curiosity sake. I'm all for...
So why the big change between '20 and '21? They already went from OTC either sex archery tags in '19 to a "supposedly capped" limited archery lottery in '20 in those units and other units in the region.
The only thing I can think of is they waited to set their license allocation number based...
