    Virginia Meat Processor Recommendations

Do it yourself! After paying the processor a few times you could buy what you need. Processers are too hit or miss, plus there is no guarantee you are getting your meat back or if it was even taken care of well.

    Everyone ready for lockdown 2.0?

I was at the Chick Fil A in Jefferson city today. Couldn't go in. Which they had recently opened up dining again. I doubt it was lack of help because Chick Fil A doesn't have a problem getting applicants, plus they had like 5 people in the drive through working.

    Missouri Dove Season

Spring/early summer got away from us and we didn't get anything in the ground for Doves. The farm usually has some doves without doing anything, but not enough to make a fun hunt. In the past we have hunted early cut corn, sileage, and mowed down sunflower fields elsewhere. Probably have to find...

How Many Stands How Many Acres

IMO, number of stands is different for every farm. Most important thing is to have stands for different winds, morning stands, and evening stands. Know where they are going early season and late season.

    Is there hope for Meateater?

I've never understood Steve bring Mark to light. I mean he basically brought on a guy that had a half page resume. listening to him and his deer knowledge in the beginning was like eating stale bread, and the stale bread was the heel.

    Cabelas vs Sitka- Treestand clothes

Missouri deer huntere here. In my opinion majority of Cabelas gear is overpriced for what it is. Quality took a dump when Bass Pro bought them. Sitka is the best outerwear out there in my opinion. Most of their whitetail stuff isn't waterproof though, some is water resistant. For the whitetail...

    Pheasant ammo doesn't exist

It was hard to find last December even. People need to stop "frantic buying". Them and the resale sportsmen are the problem.

Missouri's lowest turkey harvest since 1997

I like the bounty idea. I'm in favor of going to 1 turkey in the spring and no fall season. We have someone trap our farm and he does a great job. Others that I talk to don't have time to trap, and they don't want others on their farm. I understand where they are coming from because a lot of...

Missouri's lowest turkey harvest since 1997

What do you all think is hurting the numbers the worst? I think habitat is the worst problem. Fencerows have been taken out left and right. Cool season grass has replaced native grasses. Costs of pelts is terrible as well. What can MDC do to incentivize habitat and trapping that they aren't...

    Late Season Bibs.

I've had a pair of Midway bibs for 3 years. They are light, quiet, insulated, waterproof and windproof. The price is great and will keep you dry and warm. Great for whitetail

    Western Hunting losing it's appeal

I have been putting in for Elk, deer, pronghorn, and bear in Colorado and Wyoming just FYI. (well aware I can put in for other things than elk) Pronghorn and bear I think they is definitely a lot of access to NR. Deer it seems can get as bad as elk in some areas, but ya the main pont to the...

    Western Hunting losing it's appeal

We went OTC elk Archery this last year, last week of september, with my cousin that lives in Colorado. 80 degrees almost everyday. We hunted 3 different units. Me and my buddy never saw an elk. My cousin saw a few. We hunted hard too. 3 years ago we rifled hunted and it was an atv circus. Saw...
