You will never know in Nevada how many guarantee you a draw..it’s extremely difficult to draw as a nonresident..some people get lucky and draw fairly quickly and others never draw. I’m one who’s never drawn a deer tag..
in my experience (granted, I have never really tried to save for that long) the pressure to find a giant can make the hunt a little less enjoyable. The amount of game you see will prob be significantly greater, but the trophies you imagine being everywhere just aren't there like you think..now...
My son and I drew late season bull tags with 5 points in 2020..I haven't kept up with the odds but it was a total surprise to get those tags with that few points..never know I guess
You can draw cow tags though..might be fun to draw a couple cow tags and go hunting. Save a couple people’s points for the bull tags and maybe hunt the same area..then you’ll have some experience in the unit under your belt. Just a thought.
You know, I appreciate the guys who don't waver from their stance of not shooting anything unless it ticks some box.. however, it is not against the law to harvest a Forky, and its not a shameful thing to want to fill your tag with a "meat buck" as that is hopefully why most of us hunt in the...
I know there are a lot of folks who enjoy the long range shots and practice with their chosen rifle to be proficient at longer ranges..I think it’s just a matter of being realistic with yourself. Most of the popular calibers are capable out to a long way..it’s the guy behind the trigger that has...
You should go to the range and figure out how accurately you can shoot out to different distances and make a decision based on the results. My self imposed limit is around 400 yards..that’s about as far as I feel comfortable shooting even though I know my gun could kill the animal much farther...
Such a complete shit show and I’m sure the residents who hate NR are beaming..but I chose to sit out the mess..I’ll put in for a draw or buy later if a tag I want comes available. Not worth it to me. [emoji2371]
I'm trying to make some decisions regarding muley hunting in Utah. I'd like to chat privately with some of you whom have experience hunting deer in Utah. I have hunted a few different general units in Utah and wasn't impressed, but I have some points and trying to figure out how I want to use...
Yeah it’s a great feeling. My son was the only one to fill his tag here at home and I couldn’t be more proud. Your boy will no doubt be a huntin machine when he’s older! Enjoy, they grow up quick!
%100 perfect! Keep it up! My dad and I hunt together and he’s 77…age is just a thing but your forging those lasting memories now. Good job! And congrats!
With all that said, Idaho general hunts aren’t lighting any fires..the last general tag I hunted was not good..low animal numbers, high hunter numbers and great looking country. Idaho has a management problem.
