If you want more of a historical take Where Roads Will Never Reach provides a deep dive into the work citizens and politicians alike have put in to preserve land.
While reading the book I couldn’t believe the work people were putting in to combat industry. Organizations today seem to have...
To bounce of this idea - get your heart rate up before shooting. I used to jump rope for 2-3 minutes, toss my pack with weight on to practice getting my breathing and heart rate under control. My knees don’t enjoy jumping anymore and I haven’t found anything as efficient.
In videos I often see...
To mirror this guy, I’d create a Google Doc, here is Exo’s spreadsheet, and share what you’re thinking to receive feedback. Getting advice from people about items they bring, but never need will be integral to you leaving behind items. You can also pick and choose which feedback you want to accept.
I’ve only used the 5K for overnights but I put my Argali Rincon, pole, sleeping pad, and a stash bag with charger / cords on one side and the other held a stash bag with water filters, first aid kit, and socks encase a stalk arouse
I too picked up a pair during the March Madness sale to replace my Absarokas that have little to no tread remaining. I couldn’t believe the feeling when I first put the boot on, I’ve only taken them on mellow hikes since there is still too much snow in the hills but I look forward to chasing...
Keep in mind nearly everyone has referenced anecdotal evidence - which is also what I have to offer except for the fact the estrus cycle is closely correlated to day light. Temperatures have nothing to do with it and while they may be less active, bulls will chase if they smell a cow coming into...
I’m a big fan of my Rincon. I dealt with zero condensation even when I lowered it as much as possible during a rainstorm. I suggest digging a moat around the border because I dealt with a little runoff situation which was quickly mitigated.
I’d steer clear of the Lunar Solo. I had it set up in fairly areas with decent airflow and still got horrendous condensation. Enough that my bag was damp in the morning. I was pretty surprised to see the Owyhee basically replicated the footprint but I assume with the double wall the condensation...
Exceptionally easy to set up but it has taken a few trips for me to figure out the ideal layout. With the 5000 I immediately figured out the best way to pack with camp on my pack yet the 2200 requires each piece to be placed in an exact position for maximum capacity.
Initially I placed my Jet...
“ How To Privatize a Mountain” by Josh Bullington - a fascinating article about the constant threat to private lands, especially ones we may not have traditionally thought as threats.
I know many despise a wide-array of politicians but my (our?) level of communication needs to continue to...
I don’t know law well enough but it is hard to decipher whether the outfitter can purchase one tag each time they “…fill a wolf tag in the course of outfitting”.
It is ambiguous language but the is the point of bulls and laws
S 1340, states that the “Idaho Fish and Game Commission shall provide the opportunity for outfitters to purchase an additional bighorn sheep, mountain goat, or moose tag to any outfitter that fills a wolf tag in the course of outfitting.”

You do realize much like Rogan, Rinella, and Hanes who like to ego-stroke, the same can be said for RokSlide where it is a common group supporting similar ideologies. While it is a great place to acquire info, other sources are necessary because I often identify similar biases being conveyed
I’d have to disagree. This past September was my first with the Rincon and I spent nearly 16 nights in it.
I love the ease of set up, weight, and the size. It packs down to nearly nothing, since bugs aren’t an issue there is no need for the nest. The spacing was fine for a buddy and myself or...
Totally agree. I by no means meant to put the two groups on level grounds. I personally have bumped mountain goats accidentally which sent them scurrying into terrain they may not have wanted to cross. I think this is a group whose influence could be overlooked just like the nordorkers that were...
I genuinely appreciate a majority of the comments within this thread, there have been some interesting aspects brought up and not too many people have deviated from the topic at bay.
To me, humans need to take an introspective look at how we are impacting wildlife and this is even more drastic...
I’m looking for a new mat. I have taped together old yoga mats and have done MtnTgh’s kettlebell workouts interchange with yoga sessions 5/6 days a week for the past few years. The mats are beginning to shred with pieces getting into my eyes.
One member referenced using horse stall mats...
