Any news or updates out of Riverton especially regarding elk seasons and tag allocation changes?
I imagine the first day was consumed by the wolf in a bar fiasco.
The Oklahoma legislature is proposing a "pilot program to enhance the genetic durability in whitetail deer against chronic wasting disease". It is primarily thru the Dept of Agriculture, Food and Forestry with assistance from the Wildlife Department. This tells me it's a captive deer initiative...
I have a basic Lift Master. Programmed to my Toyota button. It has worked for 20 years.
One day it won't lower the door.
I reprogram the button. Immediately after programming the door can be raised or lowered as intended.
I drive off. Come home and button will raise the door but not lower it...

"Non-residents were both better at antler hunting and better at boasting of their finds on social media."
:):):):):):) HAHAHAHA!
It's no wonder that Wyoming put the squash on non-resident shed hunters.
NR elk...
Elk and antelope hunting tags in Oklahoma are OIL and the Wildlife department uses a totally random draw with a bonus point system and although they call it Preference Points, to the rest of the hunting world they are bonus points. The Outdoor Oklahoma magazine recently had a good article about...
Any 60+ whitetail hunters using a saddle setup? Now that I'm fully retired I have more hunting time and I can see where saddles have a place especially in late season when leaves are gone.
After some Google mining it seems like a safe method of hunting from a tree, probably safer than what I'm...
I came into possession of a like-new Mathews MQ1. I enjoy shooting it but I would enjoy it even more if it was set for my draw length. What is the chance of Mathews still having the cam I need to go from 30" to 28"? Or another source?
Thanks
Except for my traditional arrows I've always used whatever insert came with the arrow shaft.
This season I decided to try some skinnier shafts for the compound, GT Kinetic, .204. I used the provided insert/halfout and the arrows were flying great at targets but the strength for hunting was...
Anyone have experience with a good wood sealer for utility trailer wood floor?
Pressure treated pine. The last time I replaced the wood flooring (no sealer) was about 10 years ago but maybe that's all the longevity I should expect.
Archery only but no crossbow.
No blind other than available brush.
Who does it?
Ultimate challenge for me.
I get close but drawing the bow is my downfall. I probably need to practice holding at full draw longer.
Not seeing the deer until they are "right there" is also a problem.
Might try a...
I shoot Gold Tip arrows with .246 ID. I want a 50 grain insert.
Is a short 50 gr brass stronger than the GT 50 gr aluminum insert?
I've used 100 gr brass and typically just cut it for a 50 grain brass. I don't mind cutting 100's. I've got plenty.
Or is the longer 50 gr GT aluminum insert...
Little Debbie products, the go-to nutritional supplement for hunters everywhere, will no longer be sold in Canada. Sad. Will they be confiscated at the border?

Rinella has Iron Will on the podcast. You know happens next.
Meateater/FirstLite/Jason Phelps/Iron Will broadheads at $100 each
Sharp as hell but won't fit any inserts.
(for Iron Will fans I hope I'm wrong)
Bill is very good on the podcast.
